fortune_p_dawg: I thought the same thing. But if GOG was only able to secure one of them... as much as I enjoyed Oblivion I'd have to go with Skyrim.
avatar
anothername: Same here.

Mostly because my Oblivion + Shivering disks are all offline no steam/similar required.

As much as I would love to see them released I still think this list is BS. If they have secured these games they would release them right away; or in a much shorter time frame. Its not like they are currently unreleased fresh titles.
many of these titles could be pending negotiations. i think the first round of bethesda titles took more than a year to come away from the negotiating table and make release ready.

i could be getting my hopes up, but i'm going to keep my fingers crossed for may 17.

SCPM: While looking for an older version of this list, I found this post:
http://forum.burek.com/vesti-i-zanimljivosti-iz-sveta-igara-t330287.1420.topicseen.html

It gives a release date of May 17 for Skyrim and Fallout 3 on GOG, and June 2 for Command & Conquer: Red Alert + Counterstrike. Also curious is that the person credited for this leak is mercs213, GOG fan and torrent uploader, and someone who'd likely have bought most of GOG's games and would thus be entitled to this developer forum.

I'm still skeptical about many of these releases, for many of the reasons Prah has listed above, but only time will tell.
did you notice this at the bottom of the list in your link?

*NOTE : With many titles submitted to CD-Projekt Red
for the approval for the GOG business platform, some
of these scheduled dates may change without notice.

it looks like that would've come from a copy-paste job. definitely lends a it an air of legitimacy... *trying to keep my hopes subdued*

anothername: You might mistake that confirmation from 2015 for something else. I have a very hard time to belive they secured the chance to release a high profile classic like the original first X-Com and sit for over a year on it.
Installers in the GOG ftp server meant for external QA testing. There are still a couple of games that were there that haven't been released yet, but most of them have. Like the Lego games, the F.E.A.R. ones and the X-Com ones.
So no, not mistaken about it.
Unless you think GOG does preemptive testing on titles they may or may not secure the rights to distribute, thus spend time and money on something they'll have to pull the plug later on.

According to my calendar its a tuesday which makes it a very likely day for such a release. On top a tuesday AFTER a long weekend because monday a holiday which would be my typical bad luck ("Hey, here is the game you could have played on all the free time you don't have anymore" ;) ).

Depending on how sure they are they might get something I'll not rule that out. Its not like getting classic x-com running is time consuming rocket science.

We are now deep. That means that we are either close to cutting the veil of mysteries surrounding GOG's releases or we are just in a swamp of bullshit. May should prove a very interesting month if any of the rumours come true.

What's unreleased that is currently in there?

I really hope for Bloodlines :)

fortune_p_dawg: What's unreleased that is currently in there?
Can't answer that. Both due to NDA and because I no longer have access to said server.

ah no worries, just curious. this is just so interesting... the secret forum, that list, etc... wait! do you work for gog? how did you get bound into the NDA?

i wonder if i just bought out the remainder of the gog catalog id see access to that forum? but then, if not, it could be a very immediate waste of money. hmm... decisions...
In the end; I can only hope to be proven wrong by reality. I don't think I have ever looked forward to be so very wrong :D

I've no knowledge of any secret forum, I've already commented on the list, GOG does occasionally use external testers.

JMich: I had official confirmation that the X-Com games were coming here since January 2015. It took GOG more than a year to finally release them.

Yes, GOG knows we want the games, and they do try to release them as soon as they can. But the time from securing the rights to distribute them until actual distribution may be long indeed :/
That's one of the reasons I can't bring myself to throw this list in the trash - it may have taken GOG three years to negotiate more EA games, more Activision games, etc. not mention time spent "fixing" the games that needed it, and testing.

Plus, to me it makes more sense to spread them out over a period of months.

That also remains a big reason for me to not just throw the list away.

lol your hopes are all pumped up now aren't they?
but then what about that 'Ultima X Ascension' thing? that's the one that lends this list a stinky air of doubt.

well, according to a post in this link:

https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=el&u=http://www.gameover.gr/forum/pc-gaming/6161-gog-com%3Fstart%3D100&prev=search

'Ultima X Ascension' was a mistake that was supposed to be 'Might & Magic X Legacy.'

I try not to ;)

But I'll now look forward to that day out of curiosity at least.

... yeah, and a tiny bit of wishful thinking.

tfishell: Awesome if true, but what of Oblivion?! :-P

[edit: Nevermind Prah ;)]

But to me it's nuts to think GOG could only secure one, especially with Oblivion being older and already having a Steam-free version originally (right?). Currently I'm just chocking it up to GOG not bothering to mention it in the list.
