It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Has anyone had any problems with Youtube this past 24 hrs? I can get audio but no visual. Just a blank screen.

Works fine for me.
Try it with a different web browser.

If that doesn't work, try it with a different OS. (I suggest a Linux Live CD/USB for this.)

Not sure changing your OS is the best fix for youtube not working, sounds a bit overkill!

Try installing the latest version of Adobe Flash and make sure that any add-ons blocking it are disabled. It may help to update your preferred web browser, too. Hope this works for you!

Buy a new identity, move to another country, buy a new computer (and access to the internet), install a new OS like OS2/Warp and try it then.
low rated
You could check for porn on other sites.

Seriously do what bushidoukitsune says as I had the same problem some months ago,and updated Abode was my fix.

My only youtube issues is that sometime when the video is embeded on another site I can't see the control (play/pause, settings etc...) and have to blindly press where I think they are.

I do get a black screen in the new google map when I want to see satellite imagery. The old version works fine though.
Worse comes to worse, you can use savedeo or something, download the videos locally and watch them on your computer.

Booting up a live CD/USB is a fairly good idea to see if the problem is due to a system-wide setting. Of course, one should probably try a different browser and/or a different user account first - to see if the issue is more localised.

I thought NeXTStep was the new hot thing, or maybe it was BeOS I was thinking of?

Or just remove Flash entirely unless you absolutely require it (in which case I pity you as I think forcing Flash on anyone is a little bit over the top regardless of whatever atrocities they may have committed).

(You don't need Flash for YouTube.)

I had this happen to me once. Somehow it was conflicting with one of my extensions. Remove them 1 by 1 and try again until you find the culprit.

It's done me no harm.

Alternatively, if you actually do need Flash for something, but don't need it all the time, try running it in a virtual machine. This way, you keep your primary machine free of Flash, but can access it if you need it. (Installing Google Chrome on a Linux VM is one possible way to do this.)

I find VLC wants to run if flash isn't present, however it always goes for a bitrate that i can't sustain, or is heavily unoptimized when trying to play anything.
