In the Galaxy client settings, there's a checkbox to enable recording the time spent playing games (it's called Game Time Tracking, under Settings -> Game features). And if that checkbox isn't selected, then no playtime is logged.

It seems logical to me that if a person decides they don't want their playtime logged, then no time-played records should appear. But if unchecking the box after some playtime is already recorded, no additional playtime is recorded, but past recorded playtime still appears in the client.

Is there a way to delete playtime that was recorded before a person unchecked the Game Time Tracking box? If there isn't, I would like to see an ability to do that added.

There is no way and GOG support isn't likely to be going to do it for you. If it is just one game, maybe. In case you want all your games reset? That's not going to happen.
I'm not wanting GoG support to manually delete playtime records. When a person unchecks the Time Tracking checkbox, their recorded playtime should automatically be removed. Or there should be a separate button which a person can click to have all their recorded playtime deleted. That should be a feature of the Galaxy client.

Maybe there should be an option allowing you to delete/reset achievements and time played. It wouldn't be difficult to implement it without granting access to their servers this data is stored on. I would think of an option which will store data offline but doesn't sync and upload it to one of GOG's servers. When it hasn't been uploaded within x-amount of days, data will be deleted and is gone, which should give you exactly what you are asking for.

Since a wishlist entry exists you may as well sign in support. Looking at the date of the first comment, which was added in 2015, and the latest this month past, it is unlikely GOG will ever implement it.

That wishlist item looks relevant. Thanks.
Delete Galaxy and get offline installs. Not trolling. Just pointing out the option....
A local tracking would be a nice add to Galaxy, i like to see my time tracking and achievement without the need to show everyone just to keep it to myself and reset it when i want.

I'm pretty sure that still wouldn't do what the OP is requesting, as playtime would still be listed on his GOG profile anyway even if he did that, would it not?

And even if it wouldn't, then the playtime info would still be recorded on GOG servers somewhere, so that still wouldn't delete it.

OP is 100% right that there should be a way for users to delete their playtime if they want to.

That definitely should not be the case. Deleting playtime may be a major decision in some cases, and to have it disappear simply as a result of unchecking the Time Tracking box would cause way too many accidents to happen, where users have their playtime deleted by mistake even though they didn't want it to be.
