JDelekto: OK,

Trying to redeem a code, I get a bit of hesitation and then this:

"Please complete the Captcha to continue. It's nothing personal, just a crippling fear of robots."

I certainly don't think it was a human asking me for the Captcha.

nightcraw1er.488: How can we be sure your human? Please check the attached picture and tick all that contain shop fronts.
I can be sure that you're a human because you made the sort of mistake that humans tend to make. (In this case, using your instead of you're; as a human, you are used to spoken English, in which those two words sound the same, but a bot would likely be working with written English and wouldn't likely confuse those two words, unless it's trained on faulty input that makes that very mistake.)

A self-loathing robot who wishes to be a human?

It is either Tin Woodman (of Oz), or Robocop, asking you those questions.
Don't worry. Shodan is soon taking over.
"I AM SO GLAD THAT I AM NOT A ROBOT, MY ~~HUMOUR MODULE~~ SENSE OF HUMOUR WAS ENGAGED AT THE MERE THOUGHT OF BEING A ROBOT HA-HA-HA-HA"

plagren: At least GOG tells you there's a captcha you need to complete. Most sites don't seem to do that, so if you have Google's domains blocked (assuming the site is using reCAPTCHA) it can be difficult to figure out why a random web form isn't working.

IIRC, GOG doesn't tell you on the Log On screen if you have Google's domains blocked in some fashion. You keep putting your credentials in again and again, and the screen just refreshes and asks them again, with no error message or indication that it's the CAPTCHA it wants you to complete.

That's not a given certainty, if I know the rule then I can break it. Of course, we all know that you're should ne used as in you are, but given most of the posts barely get beyond "hur hur, guns and tits, lol" I would only expect a robot to be pedantic enough to pick on on such a thing ;op
