Really? That's where the classic installers are hidden? That's incredibly deceptive to the user.

And then it doesn't even stay in the "classic" mode! The user is forced to re-select the classic installers every time.

Exactly the points I've been trying to drive home for a while now.

I'm seriously thinking of making this a wishlist entry, but I'm not sure if there's much of a chance of gathering a substantial number of votes. I don't expect GOG to aquiesce anyway, but it would be a nice measuring stick of their honesty, so to speak.

Not being able to set all of the installers to "classic" mode is a real problem. GOG really needs to change this. We do not want Galaxy to be a mandatory client.
Although there are already some entries regarding galaxy on the community wishlist - e.g.
https://www.gog.com/wishlist/site/galaxyfree_installers_accountbased_option
I have made another feature request
https://www.gog.com/wishlist/site/add_an_option_to_set_galaxy_free_classic_install_files_as_standard_download_in_account_settings
... just to draw a little bit more attention to this but I am afraid it has not (yet?) received that much attention nor votes...
Maybe they want to become known as "true competition to Steam" more than DRM-free now (like how they wanted to become known more for DRM-free rather than Good Old Games/"old games that run on modern machines" a few years back, the re-branding)
