The Epic Games Store Exclusivity will expire in February 2020 and will be available in Steam as far as I know.

But was the game also planned to come to GOG?

I'd prefer it if they could get their act together and get us the originals first. Otherwise any new release from them is going to be a hard pass.

I'd like to see non-reducks version of 2033 as well.
I don't think such information is publicly available, sadly.
I've sought the finest oracle on the planet, and their reply is:

"Reply Hazy, ask again later."
I sacrificed a sheep and the blood said

"wtf is wrong with you"

I may have done something wrong.

Maybe if they have removed Denuvo by then.

Remove denuvo is technically possible. Making this game, or in fact any game from the series, in any way good is way beyond current technology.
*shakes magic 8-ball*

"Maybe."

I think if GOG was confirmed they'd have a "Coming Soon(tm)" thread by now. Personally I have some decent hope because GOG got the previous two, and Deep Silver/THQ Nordic and GOG seemingly have decent relationships, and GOG must know Metro Ex would (imo) sell gangbusters here (compared to many indie titles).

Maybe it gets here a few months after Steam (after the initial sales period, maybe they'd be comfortable with a DRM-free version); would be unfortunate for GOG's sales but at least it'd come here. Have the game been cracked yet?

Also not to be rude but you've been here since 2011, so you must know (at least somewhat) that the rest of us forumites rarely know more than the others. Keep track of what's discovered and ask about games in the "unofficially confirmed" thread.

The thing is I was certain I heard that this game was also gonna have a GOG release.

Oh okay. Well no unfortunately, no official confirmation.

Yeah, well, you know, that's just like your opinion, man.

It'd be nice if we got the Mac and Linux builds of the previous Metro games here before 2020 :/
