I think Galaxy has a future. However in its current state it is not helpful. I am still using it to see the changes.
PROS:
* Auto updates can be useful sometimes.
* Possibility of seeing your play time for games.
CONS
* Auto updates delete mods and can make the game unplayable.
* When a game is added, it automatically starts autoupdate which may corrupt the game. Auto-updates should be able to be turned off by default. You can only do that AFTER it updates once and its already too late.
* It doesnt show the true play time for any of my games. I finished BG2 and BG1 yet it only says i played 2 hours.
* The user interface is horrible. We made lots of recommendations yet none of them are implemented yet. Dont use it especially if you have a laptop.
* Some games dont run at all with Galaxy yet work perfectly fine on its own.
* Horrible, terrible downloader system. It downloads the FULL game and not the installer. Lets say a game's installer is 15 GB but it is 25 GB after installation. It downloads 25 GB. So very bad choice for people who have bandwith problems like me.
* Most of the time very slow download speeds. I am downloading with 800KBs/s with downloader but couldnt see more than 100KBs/s with Galaxy. At the moment I am downloading things by simply clicking on them on the web page.
NOT: I opened tickets on mantis long time ago and created wishlists on page.
