After being cheated in by someone in trade.

I wonder GOG can implement inventory trade system similar to many MMORPG and steam,
where games code are available as inventory goods and can only be traded once both party click "agreed".

I think many will like this GOG being a growing game site should really consider this to delight it's customer.
As it can improve the user account UI and Galaxy why not this?

It will save lives of many good GOGers for being cheated again and again by spammer and we do not need "Known Spammer" list anymore. It will also save GOG support time to investigate etc at least a good portion of it.

Seriously? They can't get my stupid account button to work and you want them to manage that? :P
This won't prevent scammers from tricking you. They will give you a false code and redeem yours...

Just my two cents.
Also if you are not sure and have your doubts in other person, always ask for code first and check it if valid or not.

I can't believe the Account button is still broken! C'mon GOG!

Ya know there is one thing that can prevent it. It's a common sense.
Still, it would be an improvement and it shouldn't be too difficult. Just have valid codes confirmed by GOG and only reveal what the actual code looks like, once both partie's codes are confirmed.

Exact what I meant, thanks for pointing out.

I understand. I did that many times, still, it is sometimes 2 ways as people also "doubt" at the first place and arguing who to go first. then it open out more homework to search in forum thread to see the rep point to think and this and that.

A solution in place would really save our time.

Also, send a Gogbear enforcer to kick scammers in the butt. :P

But there is still a backdoor... It only works when the codes have been acquired legally. What about grey market purchases or purchases with stolen credit cards? Those games will be removed from the user´s library after a while.
And there are also users who trade GOG keys with those from other sites. GOG can not help here.

GOG can implement this feature but there are a lot of ways left beeing scammed.

Can't be too difficult? They haven\t got the bugs ironed out of their web site, and rather than fix the issues, roll out a new web site with different problems to coincide with their blockbuster game, because WE HAD TO HAVE GALAXY with Witcher 3, even if Galaxy was a half finished piece of shovelware at the time. Better to have something bad than nothing, amirite?

They have no concept of how to properly test anything and make changes to the live website instead of a test environment. And you want them to be in charge of a system that could possibly EASILY be broken with bad security (this site has bad security) and compromise peoples' accounts (we already have that too)?? Please tell me you're joking. The biggest difference between VALVe and CD Projekt is the willingness and/or ability to invest funds in their peripheral store and marketplace. VALVe started as a game developer and turned intothe largest digital distributor on the planet. CD Projekt has nothing here.

I'd love to see what we have working properly before we start getting superfluous features. FIX WHAT'S BROKEN, GOG. Hell, the Galaxy Client (and by extension, the website) can't even put games IN THE RIGHT ORDER. And you want them managing an inventory system.

ETA: Also, why is this marked as a question when it's not something the community can help with? There's so much of that lately, like people think posts marked as questions are more likely to be seen by staff.

I did this once. I encouraged people to use it. Nobody did. It has since fallen into disrepair. The problem was that I cannot have single sign on with GOG accounts, so I had to require people set up a separate identity. However it was able to verify GOG codes prior to trade, and only reveal the actual codes to the users once both had agreed to trade.

Because it's not a feature that they want to deal with, trading between users. They don't support it and it's better that way.

Only way to avoid getting scammed it's to simply ignore trading around the forums. I learned it the hard way, i stopped doing any kind of trades and, voila, i'm not getting scammed anymore.
Scammers will find ways to trick you, especially on these forums, as they are intended for chatting. Personal identity it's a problem, as you can't click on person's name and get his forum activity while in chat, so the most common scams come from impersonating another high rated member by using similar name and picture.

They simply don't want to deal with people getting scammed, they don't want to be held responsible. If they implement something like it, they will be held responsible, and more things might go wrong for them. It's easier to just don't involve than to replace whole forums, website, and to implement new features.
