It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Find what you're looking for faster, easier, and with style.

As some of you have already noticed, today we launched an overhauled navigation system for GOG.com. The goal is simple: to make it faster, simpler, and better for you to explore our store and find what you're looking for.

Browsing our catalog has never been easier: mouse over the Store tab for a neat dropdown menu that contains ongoing sales, a detailed breakdown of our games categories, and several top-tier suggestions.
To bring our games closer to you, we've also made several improvements to our search engine, so locating the title you're after should be much more straightforward now. Those accessing our store through mobile will notice that these changes have dramatically improved their experience, as well.

But that's not all! If you want to reach Support, interact with the Community, or manage your Account, you'll find that the intuitive dropdown menus make for a much more fluid experience, saving you time that could be spent playing your favorite games!

Your account name and avatar are now clearly visible on top at all times, so you can tell at a glance if you're logged in and on which account. Last but not least, redeeming gift codes and switching between languages or currencies is now more readily available with no need to scroll to the bottom of the page.

Enjoy!

Klumpen0815: Still no official statement on the missing notifications?
Nothing more than this earlier post, sort of a general response.

Seen that and take that as a "no".
I hate those PR-talk posts with no content.

00063: Can we PLEASE get the old one back, the new one looks ugly, works slower, login is a mess, searchings awful, and the whole thing it's way more complicated to to use then before.
Looks: Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder, so they can't satisfy everyone unless they implement a themes system. I for example am quite indifferent to the old and new design. They both don't annoy or repel me, that's all I care for in a website design.

Speed: On my system (Kubuntu 14.04 + Firefox 53.0) it works much faster than the old one. Especially the pull down menus were a pain in the ass for me before. Now they are actually a little bit too fast, so that they flip open even if I only move the mouse quickly over them on my way to the tab bar of Firefox.

Login: I didn't notice anything like that. What exactly is wrong about it?

Search: Here I am with you – somewhat, because I won't call it "awful". I can't get to the full search results just by hitting enter. The pull down list, although usable by keyboard (a plus), is too long to scroll down to the browse-all button if I search for generic words like "star" or "dungeon". The search field popping up in the middle of the panel instead of directly under the search button annoys me. I liked the former search much better.

Jemolk: Strangely, every single one of your posts on this thread, which seem rather innocuous and reasonable to me, are low-rated, while the post of the arse who told you to shut up for little discernable reason is high-rated. Odd. I've done my part to help correct several of these errors.

LynetteC: I noticed that too and have also been trying to compensate. I trust whoever is abusing the votes or running the script will be dealt with under the new forum rules?
Since I noticed similar rating abuses in some threads about the Planescape Torment Enhanced Edition, I also do that by giving any low rated post I don't see a problem with a plus. Apart from that, I completely ignore the rating system and I have set my settings to show all posts regardless of their rating. Unfortunately, the forum keeps hiding posts right after you give them a minus, which I sometimes do when I suspect a rating skirmish in a thread. That shouldn't happen if the hide setting isn't set.

Oh, I just noticed while testing the latter that you can't take back a rating, i.e. set it back to "none". You only can give a plus or minus after you gave one of them. That isn't right, you should be able to take back your rating. Or am I overlooking something?
I love the new updates, but I still prefer the Community/Forum button on the bar. It's much more convenient for mobile users like me. But I bookmarked the forum anyway so I think no big deal :)
This just gets worse.

I just noticed four people wanting to know why I unfriended and blocked them

Hello....I DIDN'T!!!! :P

Of course they probably asked me why I supposedly did this several days ago but because of a lack of notifications I have no way of knowing.

Dear GOG, this new layout and what you are doing to non-Galaxy users with it is beyond fucking inexcusable, and it as of right now it knocks you up to #2 on my "Fuck You" list, just one below the president of the united states.
I have a long Wishlist that currently spans two pages and whenever I filter by "discounted" it seemingly now only shows discounted titles that are on the first page.

HypersomniacLive: Unfortunately, the GOG Downloader won't notify you about any PMs you have, as it's incompatible with the chat system. And even if it did, starting/running the GOG Downloader is not an acceptable workaround for not getting notifications on the site.

And since it's already Friday and past office hours, I guess we're into a weekend of no notifications, and no word if and when we can expect them back; how lovely. Is Monday a public holiday in Poland?
Yeah, I know that, but at least I know if someone replies here and if I have a game update that need to be downloaded. I still use the old downloader so it''s not like I'm starting it up specifically for notifications; it's just a happy side effect. :-) I agree though, it's something that needs to be fixed - ASAP.

On another note, long time no speak. How the devil are you?

Since this is the thread everybody who has problems with the new new account system is reading I highly recommend installing Barefoot Essentials script. It offers different themes along with repaired notifications.

And while you are on your way to see how enjoyable GOG really could be don't forget to also install Adalia Fundamentals script. :)

Trilarion: What happened to the forum reply notifications icon? Discontinued, broken, or do I make something wrong there?
avatar
almabrds: In the Galaxy client, nothing, they are still there, working normally. In Firefox and other browsers it's gone, and who knows when it'll return.
The good news is that Barefoot said he/she may add this in the Essentials mod.
Let's see if it'll be necessary (I don't believe the missing notifications is something gog team wanted, in the new system).
I almost had not noticed this reply. I hope they can fix this asap. The new look shines so far, but not testing it properly in Firefox and other browsers is not nice.
Looks nice. Keep it up!
Nice(ish) update. The only thing missing is a way to skip to specific pages in my library instead of having to go through it 1 page at a time...

Such a thing has been possible for years. :) Just click where the page number is displayed and enter the number of whatever page you wish to go to. (This also works other places in the store & account sections of the site: the "browse the catalog"/search results pages, review sections on product pages -- even the catalog search filter dropdown for "developer/publisher".)
It looks different, but I haven't found anything new that would really help navigating on gog. Aren't there any more important features to work on?

still no fucking notifications
Just for info - not expecting that this will be ever fixed. Dropdown menu doesn't work in old Opera 12.xx.
If you hover mouse cursor over navigation menu only white triangle appears.
