Bloodygoodgames: Nope, now it won't open, it won't delete and I can't download the new version as, when I try it tells me "Access denied". I'm presuming there's a bug/virus in it that's completely destroyed that file?? And now it's stuck in my computer.
JMich: I'm guessing the Access Denied is on installing, specifically at GOG Downloader.exe? Check the system tray, the X of the downloader minimizes it there, it doesn't close it. Alternatively, go to task manager and end the process from there, then try installing it again.
Also, going to %localappdata%\GOG.com and deleting any .bin files there should clear the cache of what is downloaded.
Hey J,
Tried everything you suggested, but it just wasn't liking me at all :) Just kept getting 'Access denied" or the file I was clicking on, (right clicking or left clicking) just wouldn't do anything.
Weirdly, I finally managed to get the damn thing to delete by right clicking the file through a back door and renaming it. Then, when I came to delete it, voila, gone.
Just reinstalled the downloader again and this time it deleted the first file with no problem. BUT..the damn thing is slower than Christmas so, back to Down Them All :)
And yes, I'm deleting this new GOG downloader too. For me, it officially SUCKS! :)
Down Them All is working a treat. Should have my game downloaded in about 20 minutes. Just calculated the time it would take on GOG's downloader -- about 8 HOURS.
Don't know what the deal is with that thing, but it's been like that since I joined GOG, both the old and the new version. Very weird.
Anyway, thanks for the help, J. :) As long as I can get the game downloaded, I don't really care how I do it :LOL
