I honestly don't think the "backlash" is going to be much... other than some hardcore forum users who resist just about any change GOG makes. I could be wrong, but I willing to bet that amount of people who want to play the next game from CDPR (even a card game) is going to be to popular to matter.

I have to say I have a very uneasy feeling about all of this. GOG seems to be changing into something that many users might not like. As others have said, this does hold the prospect of microtransactions and possibly the advent of those dreaded "freemium" games being released on GOG.

And if GOG Galaxy ever does become mandatory for users, that would be me gone. I don't have it, and I don't want it.

I'm on Linux, so GOG Galaxy would actually have to materialize before it became mandatory, (big if) but I'd be more than willing to test a canary version of it.

Bang On GOG!

This is great news GOG. Used to be so easy for me to buy from GOG in the beginning way back in prehistory when when ya'll started up, LOL. Then a couple years later the rules changed for my CC and I had to start calling a 800 number and authorize each purchase, each time I wanted to buy something from GOG, grrrrrrr. Still the 800 number was a 24/7 site so buying was possible at anytime of the day, weekends, and holidays. While I appreciated the extra security it was annoying.

This last year though, the rules changed yet again and for the worst. The 24/7 assess 800 number which was merely annoying as another step went away. Now it's gone to frustrating as I have to call the main credit union itself but they are only open during normal business hours, M-F . If there is a sale on the weekend or something I notice at night I'm screwed. I lose out on a a lot on dailies and GOG has no chance to to entice me with impulse buys either, LOL

I haven't got around to buying a prepaid CC yet as I can't get a straight answer from the CC companies on whether a US prepaid CC will work on GOG. So this wallet is a nice option. I won't have the same freedom as I would with a CC but at least I can buy something at night or a weekend should a deal on something I want present itself.

Something smells bad here. GOG please don't turn into new steam...

They once tried to make that video private, but it was reinstated after complaints.

Yeah, I think the video standing as a part of the historical record is how it should remain. Any attempt to hide it would spark claims of censorship from some folks (even though that wouldn't be censorship), as well as other animosity and ultimately culminate in a result that demonstrates the Streisand Effect. Even if it would be considered to make them look bad, the best thing they can do is to respect history and leave it there and just respect people's opinions and expression about it good or bad. That's what I hope they do in situations like this anyway. Even if I were to disagree with them on a matter such as this, I'd have much more respect for them to leave it there than to try to delete it or hide it.

I mean... it's not like they've never had a brown-paper-bag moment before where they made a bad decision right? Or should I say "brown paper bag monkment"... :)
