UPDATE: Last chance to grab your games from the original list! Make sure to get them until June 8, 12:59 PM UTC.

Want more games? We've got more games! Three new titles are now available through GOG Connect:

- Kona
- Defender's Quest
- Door Kickers

You can get them until June 13, 1:59 PM UTC.

Today, we're launching a new program called GOG Connect. The premise is simple: connect your Steam account and add your eligible games to your GOG.com library.

Whether you're checking us out for the first time or have been with us for a while, GOG Connect gets you DRM-free versions of your games, digital extras, and a whole lot of freedom of choice (like whether you go with the GOG Galaxy client or not). It gets you our take on game ownership, and we say: why buy the games more than once?

Thanks to our awesome partners including Deep Silver, Harebrained Schemes, Jonathan Blow's Number None, TaleWorlds and more, you can now add more than 20 games to your GOG.com library if you previously purchased them on Steam.

The full list of games will always be available on connect.gog.com, starting with these and more:

- The Witness
- FTL: Faster Than Light
- The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut
- Galactic Civilizations 3
- Trine Enchanted Edition
- Saints Row 2
- Shadowrun Returns
- The Witcher: Enhanced Edition

While GOG Connect will stick around, the available games will come and go. These are limited-time offers made possible by participating developers and publishers, so stay tuned as we bring new titles onboard in the future (and grab your copies before they go away)!

For a bit more library-building, a bunch of our favorite titles will also be discounted up to -85% all week long, including The Witness, Saints Row: The Third, System Shock 2 and more. You can check out all the deals here. The sale will last until June 6, 12:59 PM UTC.

yogsloth: Hmmmm, just noticed Trine 3 is in the GOG Connect promo, but not listed as a connect game.

Does anyone know if this game can be connected? I have an unused Steam key for this as well.
Maybe in the future, but not right now.

TheTWF: Unless Steam is going under (HA) I don't see how this benefits GOG in any way. It just costs them a bunch of repurchase sales.
Really? GOG gains invaluable information. Now they know *excactly* what games their users have bought with their main competitor.

Normally, a company would have to pay a real lot of money to get that info. GOG just had to convince some game publishers to join into that deal, and now they get that data for free.

It was a *very* clever move by GOG to do this.
i own braid on steam, my profile there is public, my accounts are connected, but it says it can't find any eligible games

what gives

Same problem for me. Is there a thread where we can discuss technical issues?
thanks GOG for awesome service and surprise like this (didn't expect this to happen so soon)

may we, never satisfied customers, ask you for Origin > GOG connect too ? ;)

and if you pull that stunt then remember there is always uPlay > GOG connect

you can also think about all the users of n times bankrupt Desura via Desura> GOG connect

make it so ;)

giles: Any plans to add a similar feature for humble bundles?

Installing Steam just to redeem the humble keys just so I can claim them on GOG seems like it's just driving revenue at Valve.
avatar
stevieknix: How do you work that out? If you already own the keys then redeeming them is not going to generate any more revenue, that's not how the market works. The revenue was generated when you bought them.
I have the as yet un-exercised option to make my Humble Bundles create Steam keys.

I presume the Humble Bundle folks only pay Valve when Steam keys are either generated or redeemed. They would be fools to pay Valve's margin on the products they fulfill themselves when no Steam keys are even created. (Mind you I'm not saying I KNOW that they are not fools, just giving them the benefit of the doubt.)
I've got VVVVV on Steam, connected my accounts successfully, set my profile to "public", yet it says "no eligible games found"? Any ideas?

Humble doesn't pay Valve anything for the keys. The keys are supplied by the developers/publishers who allow Humble to sell their games. Those Developers/publishers get unlimited keys for free from Valve to sell on other portals (long as their game is sold on Steam of course).

In other words, Valve doesn't get paid at all if you buy a Steam key. They only get a percentage if you buy straight from Steam.

Same problem here :(

Edit: I changed my privacy settings to public, waited a few hours, and now it's working. Thanks GOG ! :-)

Did anyone who has Surgeon Simulator Anniversary Edition on Steam also get the DLC with GOG connect? Or did you get only the base game?
This is great, thank you.

Awesome!

GOG simply rules.

Of course i´m not buying games on steam anymore. But still added 5 games on GOG wich is nice! Still 300+ to go!

Thanks!
GOG, thanks for the reminder to set my Steam Privacy settings to PUBLIC. That did the trick! Although it still took a couple hours before GOG matched my Steam library.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I suspect Valve doesn't actually get a cut on those - developers can request that keys be generated for their games, which they can then give to other vendors (GMG, bundle sites, etc.) to sell without involving Valve in the subsequent transactions. Steam still acts as the delivery service, but doesn't get any of the revenues as a result.
