UPDATE: Last chance to grab your games from the original list! Make sure to get them until June 8, 12:59 PM UTC.

Want more games? We've got more games! Three new titles are now available through GOG Connect:

- Kona
- Defender's Quest
- Door Kickers

You can get them until June 13, 1:59 PM UTC.

Today, we're launching a new program called GOG Connect. The premise is simple: connect your Steam account and add your eligible games to your GOG.com library.

Whether you're checking us out for the first time or have been with us for a while, GOG Connect gets you DRM-free versions of your games, digital extras, and a whole lot of freedom of choice (like whether you go with the GOG Galaxy client or not). It gets you our take on game ownership, and we say: why buy the games more than once?

Thanks to our awesome partners including Deep Silver, Harebrained Schemes, Jonathan Blow's Number None, TaleWorlds and more, you can now add more than 20 games to your GOG.com library if you previously purchased them on Steam.

The full list of games will always be available on connect.gog.com, starting with these and more:

- The Witness
- FTL: Faster Than Light
- The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut
- Galactic Civilizations 3
- Trine Enchanted Edition
- Saints Row 2
- Shadowrun Returns
- The Witcher: Enhanced Edition

While GOG Connect will stick around, the available games will come and go. These are limited-time offers made possible by participating developers and publishers, so stay tuned as we bring new titles onboard in the future (and grab your copies before they go away)!

For a bit more library-building, a bunch of our favorite titles will also be discounted up to -85% all week long, including The Witness, Saints Row: The Third, System Shock 2 and more. You can check out all the deals here. The sale will last until June 6, 12:59 PM UTC.
This thing doesn`t work. Nice idea, nothing I`d like better than to get Steam games on GOG (since I FAR prefer GOG) but it don`t work.

Oh, it definitely works -- it's the initial trying to get it working that's the annoying bit! :-)
low rated
Man, what a bummer! Only a handful of games and not even the good ones, the mainstream ones, or ANY of the AAAs... We all understood clearly that most devs and pubs prefer Steam by a long run and trust exclusively in it by a mile. Too bad, though. I was willing to buy a few games, if they were actually to get a GOG version and all. With situation as is, i don't even find ONE single reason/game to connect my Steam account, for. Pitiful. What a waste... 2 more days remaining. Oh well...

At least give it some time before you start complaining about the available games, ignoring the fact that some users still can't even get connected for some reason.

GOG Connect's only in its first week -- if a few months go by with nothing new, then I'd say you have a legitimate complaint, but for now I'd advise you to show a bit of patience.
Tried again today and the one I didn't get the first time came through, Surgeon Simulator 2013.

Thanks to everyone involved. Nice to have backups.

This would be a very wise advice. But i had 2 years worth of patience for the "redeem code" feature, before. Guess what? Since then, nothing new appeared. If physical, retail games, which are also neutral and unattached (to service/client/distributor), don't end up getting a gog version, how much more possible is for a Steam game, to end up getting a gog version, then?...

Ah, but this method only needs to prove that you have said game in your Steam library. It doesn't require any method of trying to verify old game keys, which was the only real drawback with the old "Redeem your game" idea.

I hope you will be right.
It doesn't work for me. It says "No eligble games found". Even when I set my profile to public.

pingu53: has anyone got it to work yet?

mechmouse: Some things I've notice from other posters, that if you've organised your steam library with different folders they're might not be detected.
I do use categories, because I have a hundreds of games on Steam. I hope that's not the problem.

Interesting concept...

Thanks, but no thanks GOG. I am willing to buy a game again on GOG if its worth keeping around. I'd rather not have any more strings attached than necessary to the games I purchase. Most games I buy on steam are multiplayer only so Steam is slightly less offensive too.

Still I applaud the effort and offering. Just keep going as you have been GOG. You're still and hopefully will remain my number one digital game store.

Take care!
Not working. The Accounts are connect but not all games are found.
What is the mistake?

Are your profile settings public?
are all games in you main library and not in subfolders?
Subfolders are not a problem. I have several and the games were still found.

I believe that some games Devs publish only through Steam because they want a heavy DRM and they knew once you bought it, you were stuck with it (no refunds).

However, with Steam issuing refunds recently, this must be a bit of a fly in the ointment for some as now their income is no longer guaranteed. However the heavy DRM still remains a factor for some and I still see some companies not allowing their Steam game on GOG at all, maybe never.

Creative Assembly of the Total War games have always been extremely tight with their games and I bet you won`t see anything released on GOG for a looong time, certainly not their more recent releases like Empire upwards.

I think I made everything public.

Exactly what do you need to do to make it public? I don`t see any `public` button.

In your Steam profile page you should have a link to Privacy Settings. In there, you have a number of choices as to whether you make various sections Private, Friends Only, or Public.
