@far2real Did you manage to solve this issue? I'm having the same issue, can't install anything through Galaxy Client (1.1.19 Beta), just gives that error.

I have disabled windows defender and ran galaxy as admin, no luck.. And I have space on my external HD where the install folder is pointing to.

Can anyone help with this?

Thanks,
PJ

I had this issue when trying to make a backup through gog galaxy. I went to settings, checked the ''manage all folders manually'' box and changed the temporary game download folder to something other than program files(eg: documents/gog downloads) and did the same with download backups & goodies to:. That worked for me. Hope it works for you, too.

dtgreene: Have you tried installing the games *without* using Galaxy?
I'm getting this same error on Unreal Gold, and UG only; I was able to install other games afterwards. I tried installing UG manually, downloaded from the site using Chrome, and at the end of install, the installer just hung for about twenty minutes before I finally ended the process.

Is the game installed? Can you start it? (It is possible the installer might have frozen *after* it finished installing everything.)

By the way, say hello to my old avatar (seen in the quote)! Did you know that the colors in that avatar were picked randomly?
I've been having this problem with every game in my library ever since Galaxy updated to 1.1.20. Told my antivirus to ignore it and associated folders, ran as administrator, and changed download and install locations and still get the error. I can do a manual download and install from the website, but Galaxy refuses to do anything. I can't even add already installed games to it, Galaxy says there are no games in the selected folder. It would be only a minor annoyance if the Gwent beta didn't require that it be installed through Galaxy.

And yes, I have plenty of free space on my hard drive.

Well holy crap, that worked; it's installed. I wouldn't have thought to look :) Thanks!

EDIT: And it was on my desktop... God, I feel stupid...
