Yep, it's happening. I honestly don't know how to feel about this. Unlike most I actually liked Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (not as much as the previous movies, but still), and if there was one good thing about Force Awakens it was Ford proving he can still return to one of his old roles and make it work. On the other hand if the new movie turns out to be a bland, disney remake of Raiders of the Lost Ark, like Force Awakens was to Episode IV, then it's a waste of everyones time. I hope it turns out to be something good, something with balls and ideas, not just flashy "update" of a great classic.

johnnygoging: +1 I liked Crystal Skull. didn't think it was bad at all really. it was fun. I dunno, it wasn't fantastic. but I enjoyed it. SPOILERS except for the aliens at the end. made no sense.

My people called it the Void, the Eternals called it The Howling. But some people call it Hell.

Does the thread have enough jokes about Mr. Ford's age yet? Herp-derp.

Anyhow, more than anything else, I'm wondering why they're already announcing it, when its release is still so far off.

Dafuq? How can it be "satanic", when it's not even based on Christianity? Unless I'm getting everything mixed up, those cultists in Temple of Doom were worshipers of the Hindu goddess Kali.

If you're stupid enough to bothered by that, you're stupid enough not to be able to tell the difference. Most people like that think this is a satanic symbol.

Now that I think about it, I don't recall even a single scene in all of Temple of Doom where they sang praise to baby Jesus. Seriously, what's wrong with that film? Probably satanic, after all, and all copies should be burned. Better safe than sorry.
The story for Indy 5 has just been revealed:

Indiana Jones has vanished. In his absence, the sinister Walter Donovan has risen from the ashes of his dead body and will not rest until Indiana, the last Crusader, has been destroyed.

With the support of Sallah, Marion Ravenwood leads the brave Joneses. She is desperate to find her husband Indiana and gain his help in restoring peace and justice to the post Kennedy America.

Marion has sent her most daring son, Mutt, on a secret mission to Baku, where an old ally has discovered a clue to Indy’s whereabouts…

Yup :( I think I tried to point that out to him at the time when he complained about it but to no avail. Unless I'm mistaken he even watched it together with a bible study group or something.

Shia LaBeouf will stab him in the gut after throwing an emo hissy-fit.

Didnt someone say there would never be another Indiana Jones without a Harrison Ford?

The sixth Indiana Jones movie will feature a mummified Harrison Ford as the antagonist.

I don't believe so. Years ago they were thinking of making Indiana Jones into something like James Bond where different actors took on the role of Indy over the years.

I think that stalled out because production for Indy 4 didn't start until like 15 years after the previous movie.

Breja: Oh god, it's the John Carpenter thread all over again :D It's devolving into listing all the possible combinations of liking and disliking the movies. Quick, we need to find someone who only likes Young Indiana Jones Chronicles!
I just did a complete chronological watch through of YIJC last year. I don't dislike any of the films, but YIJC is a great series, I wish there had been more.

In retrospect I don't think Crystal Skull was a good movie, but I'd be up for another Indy movie, with the proviso that Shia LaDouche doesn't return.
