These corridors sure are spacey.

StarCrawlers, a turn-based dungeon crawler set in closed space(s), is available now DRM-free on GOG.com for Windows and Mac with a 25% launch discount.

Dimly-lit cantinas in the outskirts of lawless space is when you can usually find the most skilled, specialized mercenaries. Also the best music. And if corporate espionage is your game, you know you'll need to put together a band of the most shady-yet-reliable people available. Those intrepid enough to hunt for bounties, undertake sabotage missions, and navigate the dangers of space while keeping you in good standing with all concerned parties.

The band of Juggernaut Games is also focused on keeping all interested parties happy. So they keep adding more missions, random encounters, diverse environments and tons of loot to their procedurally generated universe, taking into account their community's input along the way. For the remaining months that the game will stay in development, expanding the universe of StarCrawlers and fleshing out the campaign with more dynamic content are their main goals. That is, unless a band of ruthless mercenaries infiltrates their offices and wipes out all that precious code!

Pit your StarCrawlers against the randomly generated hazards of corporate warfare, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 25% discount will last until February 09, 1:59 PM GMT.

Note: This game is currently in development. See the FAQ to learn more about games in development, and check out the forums to find more information and to stay in touch with the community.
A big thank you to Juggernaut Games for GOG keys for kickstarter backers!

Matruchus: The game already has a Linux version running on Steam. While its not officialy listed as supported its already available there. So its shouldn't take long for it to come here.

Linux thread there: http://steamcommunity.com/app/318970/discussions/0/610574106418335799/

te_lanus: According to MaGog's logs for 2 February it was listed as having a linux port here, but all evidence of linux support on this game was removed today. Wonder why?
Maybe this why?

How far along the development timeline since the KS is this game?

Niggles: How far along the development timeline since the KS is this game?
March 13, 2014: Kickstarter Campaign ends with $100,000 raised
March 17, 2015: Steam Early Access
February 2, 2016: GOG In Development

EDIT: If I understand the Kickstarter page correctly, the estimated date for the delivery of the complete game is November 2014.

EDIT: Just out of curiosity, what does a studio do with $100,000 for two years? It seems like a drop in a bucket. Hardly enough to pay even one full-time developer.

EDIT: The latest news item on the Juggernaut website is dated March 5, 2015: "StarCrawlers is coming to Steam March 17th!".

Woolytoes: You know the difference between an Kickstarter and a game in Early Access or Game in developement is that there is a playable product already. With videos, comments from buyers, reviews you can look at, an many more, which all together will give you a pretty good picture about what is going.
The principle is different however, at least in theory. What KS is supposed to provide is seed money, the initial funds needed in order to pull a project together. In-development/beta/early access is meant to add funds to a project which is already underway.

Naturally both have the potential to either materialise differently than promised, or not materialise at all in a finished form. It's down to what one is comfortable backing. For myself, I'd rather pony up seed money for a well-planned project than throw money at something which has been in alpha far too long. But neither category is without its risks and pitfalls.

How do you got your GoG key? I am a kickstarter backer too but don't have mail giving GoG key nor backerkit offer GoG key.

Nah, the latest news is from 10/9/2015, it`s about the current build, the one that`s on GoG now, I guess and it contains the following things:

Story campaign prologue & missions 1 – 3 are now available
Infinite procedurally generated side missions
8 character classes with 12 abilities each
Complete Ability trees for all 8 character classes
Cloud saves for Steam
Steam integration & Trading Cards

I think you're quoting from the StarCrawlers website. I was talking about the Juggernaut Games website.
I'm certainly interested... once it's going to be done, of course. ;)
Hm, I watched the first part of a let`s play (beta 2 build), which looks very interesting.
Does anybody know if the game runs well in 1280 x 1024 resolution?

I thought the original intent was for a game to be developed with help from people backing the project from start to completion (sans publisher). Funny. I do wonder how many KS games would have not completed if they hadnt jumped to EA to get more funds etc..

That does happen. Oddly enough, most of the games I backed on there did take that path of doing it all themselves, from creation to publishing. (Take the recent release The Aquatic Adventure of the Last Human, which I backed.) But yes, it has become something a gateway for some folks to put their product before a publisher. Or even big publishers to rally the millions for their next AAA title.
am I wrong to look at the screen shots and say "so, it is like a low quality, sci-fi themed, clone of Grimrock?" while arching a weary eye?
