A perfect game for testing out your political ideas has just arrived. Democracy 4 is now available DRM-free as the game in development on GOG.COM! Assume the role of a political leader who governs a country. Transform it as you wish, while at the same time trying to retain enough popularity to get re-elected.

Isn't it old news? We had this already last week or so, didn't we?

That was "coming soon". This is the game already available (in development, though).

We've had the thread, now we have part of the game, later (soon?) we'll have the full game. Whatever "full" means nowadays anyway...
This looks interesting, but a lot of people have been saying that the series is stale, so I'll have to wait and see.

It used to be that game developers put huge effort into impressing their potential customers. QA was part of development before it even hit the shelves.
Nowadays they ask you for money and if you're lucky then you get something that resembles a game. If you're lucky, that is. There are basically no shelves any longer. I'm not surprised that Steaming pile of sh*t is full of it but it saddens me to see this happening in GOG.

Yes, I understand that new and small unestablished developers do this, they pretty much have no other option (besides Kickstarter). Unfortunately it's the lazy and greedy ones who have absolutely ruined the whole concept of "pre-release". Like we have this "series", if we can even call it like that.
Does anybody know why Democracy 4 got released silently here (switch from 'In Dev' to Released)? https://www.gog.com/en/game/democracy_4 is missing the 'In Dev' information but there is no release thread about it in the forum (and my records). The full release trailer got uploaded on January 12th this year, did GOG have no time for the announcement (this was when news posts mentioned only the genre)?

Probably for the same unknown reason(s) why The Architect: Paris or going back even further, RIOT - Civil Unrest got upgraded from InDev to full release without the proper announcement as well.

Or GTTOD: Get To The Orange Door, which was added to the catalogue as an InDev title back in November last year but has yet to receive the actual InDev status.
