MarkoH01: @john_hatcher: I know where you are standing with GOG so I won't comment on this (we also already talked this out in private) but on a slightly different subject: what is so bad about add-ons in general? They are the only reason that I switched to firefox years ago. Not every add-on has to be bad.
Even though I had Firefox since version 3 (or so), I always just had a few extensions. I don't need much besides an adblocker, roomy bookmarks and sometimes cookie manager, so that I can see all those illegal games here in Germany. But since Firefox got worse and worse and I always liked the original Opera very much, I switched to Vivaldi, when the first beta came out and when Firefox fucked themselves with version 57, I removed it and only use Vivaldi. There I still only have the above mentioned addons.
I still think "less is more" and as said before see this a GOGs job, but that's just my point of view.
