Anyone who hasn't had DRM issues isn't a gamer, they're just a game tourist. Their opinion should always be heard but not counted.
As much as I detest Steam/Origin/UPlay, most people never have any issues with the client and DRM. So you can't blame them for things working seamlessly. That's like saying you aren't a true driver when you haven't run someone over...

I know for a fact, if you don't own a game on Steam, but comment that you play it, you're a pirate. I've been told this numerous times on the Hollow Knight and We Happy Few Steam boards. I'm really glad they educated me because I haven't even BEEN on a ship in 12 years!

Honestly, downvotes work occasionally but mostly their just usd by people to settle grudges or sooth their intolerance to other peoples opinions. I'm here to play games and ask/answer quests, my care for the voting system is non-existant.
Gaming with DRM is like life, comes from experience. (as an example) If a person has only ever dealt with Origin or Steam then why would I trust their opinion when they tell me having X4 released only on Steam instead of the older methods is to avoid pirates and anyone who disagrees must be one of those pirates.
It's akin to those who, upon a new release, tell anyone experiencing problems that it's not the game because their copy runs fine.
All I can say is thank you ACCC for protecting us Aussies. I wish there was a wordlwide group who did this for digital content as I reakon smart-device games will cause a huge negative impact on our society with all their gambling (with real cash purchased digital item) options.
I don't but had assumed it was an insult.

This used to be true for some games though. Now, even if the game is exclusive to Steam it's still possible you don't own it but have played it legit because you used Steam Family sharing to play it (though that time would show on your profile if it was public)

A No True Scotsman Fallacy; https://rationalwiki.org/wiki/No_True_Scotsman & https://www.logicallyfallacious.com/tools/lp/Bo/LogicalFallacies/135/No-True-Scotsman for a full explanation. but to be short (taken from the last link:
Example #2:
John: Members of the UbaTuba White Men's Club are upstanding citizens of the community.
Marvin: Then why are there so many of these members in jail?
John: They were never true UbaTuba White Men's Club members.
Marvin: What’s a true UbaTuba White Men's Club member?
John: Those who don't go to jail.
Explanation: This is a very common form of this fallacy that has many variations. Every time one group member denounces another group member for doing or saying something that they don’t approve of, usually by the phrase, “he is not really a true [insert membership here]”, this fallacy is committed.
The universal claim here is that no UbaTuba White Men's Club member will ever (universal) go to jail. Marvin points out how clearly this is counterfactual as there are many UbaTuba White Men's Club members in jail. Instead of conceding or meaningfully revising the claim, the implication that no "UbaTuba White Men's Club members" is changed to “no true UbaTuba White Men's Club members”, which is not meaningful because John’s definition of a “true UbaTuba White Men's Club member” apparently can only be demonstrated in the negative if an UbaTuba White Men's Club member goes to jail. This results in the questionable cause fallacy as it is also an unfalsifiable claim, and of course, it commits the no true Scotsman fallacy.

@OP its more like "If you complain about DRM, you're definitely NOT a pirate", because I have never ever seen a pirate complain about DRM, unless to complain on the crack release being delayed by it.
