Tarm: I've never understood how a artist obsessed with fetuses and vaginas could create one of the scariest film monsters ever.

On second thought....
Fun fact: the original alien eggs didn't have the X opening. It was changed to that from a straight slit because they looked too vaginal.

Navagon: Sites that have done that have banned a lot of innocent people into the bargain. It's a 'nuke the site from orbit' option if ever there was one. Not one that GOG would use.

Siegor: Makes sense. Man, now I have a desire to watch aliens again.
Any excuse is a good excuse. I've seen that film at least 10 times by now. Maybe more.

But the Alien´s phallic head was okay, that´s a bit weird. :)

I don't know what's supposed to be going on with those dolls. Asexual reproduction? Kids born pregnant? Is each successive generation getting smaller than the last? Or am I looking at them the wrong way? Is it actually the case that cannibalism has turned them into giants?
low rated
Even if Prometheus didn't suck, I'm still a little pissed at this evident plan to explain the Xenomorph. It's so much more scary to me that they might be the work of nature and evolution. This idea that someone created them really kills it for me.

As far as I know they symbolize fertility.

I'm not certain, but Stacking might have an some sort of answer.
We could just implement a rep system. Y'know so users could upvote the bestest posts and bury the crap ones. It would be totally effective and not be abused at all.
all this shit lately is starting to take up too much of general.

I didn't agree with that thread that mentioned we don't have normal discussions anymore but now I've changed my mind and I do.

I will say one thing though. by now, on the Steam forums, very likely tinyE, Tauto, Tarm, snowkatt, would've likely been wearing a red banned title by now. darthspudius would probably get the same for inciting trouble.
So....you left all the real scammers and went ahead for Tauto, who is tame compared to them.

Priorities, my dear.

tinyE:
It did suck.
Scott can never explain the xenomorph as he didnt create it.
Add to that Giger wanted nothing to do with the film after he found out what was going on and they were using utterly unrelated works of his...
No wonder the poor sod died!

Edit: and Ridley Scott is out of his tiny little mind.

what's wrong witchoo guys? I thought the whole "the xenomorphs were a space jocky weapon that got control of itself" thing was a really cool idea. if anything it made total sense considering how fucking weird so much of the aliens are. also, this makes the predators look better because they've gotten to the point where they treat the aliens as sport.

Their genetic stealing life requirement and bee/ant army soldiers was pretty awkward in general so the explanation was nice. The Thing from the 80's and new one was a similar monster and it's interesting that I like these 2 the most. Both are weak to fire but Thing is much more dangerous.

If you're a fan of that there was also a short/alternate story that tells it from the mind of the Thing. http://clarkesworldmagazine.com/watts_01_10/ Brilliant fan fiction by a professional author. Makes me want to read all of his books. :D

"Space Jockeys"?! - that was one piece of a series of paintings. They were not called the "space jockeys".

Secondly, they were intended to be victims of the xenomorph - which got part of its appearence from them. They did not look human in any way.

I'd go and get my notes from my conversation with Giger, but it would evidently be wasted.

No need for that.

I heard Space Jockeys was a name they would call the prop on set, and I thought it was a pretty cool slang name for an alien race that was on a different level to the rest of everything.

So if they were just victims, why were they transporting a ship full of the things?
