I bought a new laptop just so I could play Witcher 3. My old laptop could run everything under the sun but the Witcher 3 would bring it to it's knees. It was an old AMD A10 APU. Great for light gaming but I needed something that could run Witcher 3.

I decided to go with an Intel laptop with a discrete graphics chip this time. So I saw an MSI Gaming Laptop @ $799.00 and jumped on the opportunity. It had an i7 processor, 12GB Ram, 7200Rpm HD, NVidia 2GB 960M.

This MSI laptop was beautiful. Even the way they packaged it made it feel like you were getting a royal treatment. It ran The Witcher 3 without any issues at all. The experience was really pleasant and smooth. The only thing I had to deal with was junkware and adware pre-installed. But since I'm my own IT guy that was easy to take care of.

I just wanted to share my experience with you guys if you needed a good gaming laptop. I was surprised the MSI hardware exceeded my expectations. I could only afford the lowend unit since I just also purchased a Surface Pro 4 as well. You just can't go wrong if you pick an MSI laptop for gaming. Everybody's experience could be different from mine. But so far this MSI laptop have left a really nice impression.

I am looking for a 18 inch monitor laptop and had been eying the MSI series for some time. But my current laptop is still serviceable and 18' laptop is expensive. Only it get heated easily and I had to put an external cooler under it. My fault for being taken in by the ultra thin design.

Actually I plan to change laptop much later, but with window 7 no longer for sold for retail next October, I am wondering if I should get a new PC before that. My current win 7 is home premium, hence it will only make use up to a maximum of 16GB ram while the pro / ultimate version till 192 GB.

Then again, maybe I should just buy the pro / ultimate version and install myself when I buy a new laptop in the future.
It would be more economical to hold out my laptop purchase if I do not need it now.
