Hi all, long story short I can't pay for my google account anymore because I'm Russian. Google just disabled any payment options for russians. I had much more than free 15Gb in my email and now google basically disable my account. I can't receive any emails anymore. So i can't get 2f key. Is there any way to access my GOG account now?

Ypu can contact Support and request an email address change (they will have to make sure you're the rightful owner of the account).

Google disabled the incoming emails because it exceeds the free plan. To resolve, download all the data and then delete the most online to go below 15, all will be fine.

Myself, used to have Google linked to Steam, then I lost my only phone, Google started to insist on 2FA hardly (wasn't enforced when I made it), not allowing me to enter the account despite having the login info/password, thus I've lost my oldest Steam forever. Nowadays my actual main email is from another provider and I like to keep it that way.

GOG is sending a two-step login code but OP can't receive mail at the address linked to the account. Why delete most data if you only need enough space for a single e-mail?

I don't make the rules, Google does. Google states that unless a paid account shrinks to 15GB or less, there will be not even 1 email. Whatever absurd that is, it's Google's ways, nothing I can do.

GOG should let us use a 2FA app instead of e-mail, it's faster and more secure than the e-mail code

A good idea to leave it optional and allow an Open Source 2FA app. And the main part on this 2FA is cannot be lost like eMail (i.g. locked by the provider), has recovery codes, the token can be written on a paper and put in a safe place. This is what I typically do for my Git on top a random password.

I understand GOG done eMails as 2FA by default out of "good intentions" but we all know to what road "good intentions" may lead.

I don't understand the problem. From what OP said, all they have to do is remove enough data from the cloud storage that they are below 15 GB total and they will be able to receive emails again.

So remove the data. Problem solved.

They can store it locally or in another cloud storage until Google allows payments from Russia again. Or until they have transitioned to another provider altogether.

Not everyone has or wants a cellular phone.
