Apparently, these games trigger XXX-rated mental images. I wonder why. ;)

Licurg: NO ! I'll just wait till it's on sale on GG, where it's DRM-free...
You might not have to wait long, GG has a number of titles on sale right now that were recently bundled (AI War, Skyward Collapse, A Valley Without Wind, Shattered Haven, Tidalis).

I'm in for this one. Now, do I need to start at the first game? Are these all super-lengthy games?

They're from a different company...

If you are mostly interested in game mechanics, roaming, flying around, the newest game is the best. If you want the story, you may play them all, but the first ones will look pale compared to the newest one.

Licurg: Does X2: The Threat come with a DRM-free link ?
Licurg: you can download all X Games on steam and register at egosoft, then download the no-cd patches.
And... WOOOOHOOOO. I've been waiting for this for about a month :D

Fictionvision: Yep. Amazing what a difference a year makes. (Actually about 9 months.)
It's turned out even worse than I predicted. I was thinking the THQ bundle would weaken their ability to convince devs to free their games of DRM, but as it turns out they seem to have even lost the ability (or desire) to get DRM-free versions when they already exist.

Neah... I really really hate Steam. And besides, I have the first one, and I'm not too excited about the newest one. X2 is my main target.
