Mafwek: Because Lovecraft was the better writer.

Elmofongo: Prove to me he's the better writer.
Prove to me that he's not.
Old news; August 20th has passed.

TODAY is Tori Amos' Birthday! :D
Happy posthumous birthday, Lovecraft!
....Am I the only one who thinks wishing happy birthday for someone who's been dead for 81 years is strange? Is there also a death day commemoration, for balance's sake?

Time is irrelevant to the Great Old Ones.

It's also irrelevant to Tralfalamdorians. Want me to start reciting Vonnegut? :P

I second that. Slaughterhouse Five is best book I read in last twelve months. And I've read Dune and Cheeki Bre... I mean, the Roadside Picnic before that.

That probably goes to Count of Monte Cristo, Plato's Politeia and Also Sprach Zarathustra. But it's very close to those.
I know it's not the dude's birthday anymore but I just remembered another wonderful Lovecraft-inspired thing that anybody who's interested should give a go:

The Majesty of Colours

It's a beautiful little flash game, it only lasts about ten minutes, but you can spend a lot of time looking for the alternate endings. Also if you're anything like me it'll hang about in your brains for years.
