Hi, I have tried downloading some extras/goodies from the Galaxy Client for games like Technobabylon and the Banner Saga, but where did they go? What directory?

On gog galaxy you have a small cog on the left corner, click there and you should have a part where it says "Download extras to". Mine says "C:\GOG Games\!Downloads" so yours should be similar.
