Is there a way to contact one of the moderators in this forum? The blue ones I mean. Do I have to invite them as friends first?

I've submitted a request to GOG Support and haven't received an update since, so I thought maybe I could contact one of them here.

Hopefully, you are able to quickly resolve whichever issue you are currently experiencing.

Go to your privacy settings and at the top set "Allow chat messages from: everyone".

A bit off the topic, but why doesn't GoG have a discord server? Time, resources, interest?

They do, unofficially, but it acts in no way as an official one, and seeing staff speak there is akin to seeing a blue moon.

As for contacting staff? You'd be better off going into the middle of a national forest in Poland, finding the hermit's house, and asking to quest on the behalf of GOG.

It does. But it'd be better if it didn't. Discord is a significant contributor to the enshitification of the Internet. Forums are way better except for when you have specific needs for realtime communication. And even then there are better services than Discord. Discord is where information goes to die and be forgotten.

Not true. They have one and some of the staff are regulars there. But the Discord server is invitation only. Which might not be ideal, but keeps the trolls out and things very civil there.

GOG needs WhatsApp, Facebook, Tiktok, MySpace, Craigslist, Usenet, IRC and X.

It is upsetting to watch young people have no clue how to use better options that can leave a trail for other people to follow. Reddit being close, but....look at what it is today. Reddit trying to enforce charge people money to use them, instead of irc or forums from years past, using donations.
