I once got newsletter despite having unchecked all corresponding settings. I wrote them an e-mail prompting them to stop the spam immediately. It worked.

If you claim one of the multiple giveaways they do, they auto resub you EVERY TIME. So just rememeber to unsub after claiming anything:
Your Acount > Orders & settings > Subscriptions > (deselect) Promotions and hot deals
