mk47at: Weird. Why was GLSL support disabled? At least it appears to work now.

Chapter 2 does drag on a bit, but the game does pick up speed afterwards. Have fun and good luck.
No clue.

Wishbone: So I shut down the game and uninstalled it.

Tamamba: Are you in Chapter 1 still?
Uhm, no. No, I'm not.

Wishbone: Kudos for "instantly understanding that logic", but to me, when an NPC keeps repeating the same line over and over, that is the universal signal for "you're not getting anything more out of him". If you make a game where an NPC can repeat himself over and over, and then suddenly change his mind, you need to make damned sure you inform the player of this, because it is not intuitive.
Just to be safe: I was not bragging about getting something you didn't (nor do I think that the game is perfect and needs to be defended at all costs, I wouldn't have needed 8 years to finally force myself through it if that were the case). I guess me "getting it" may have had something to do with reading reviews which had made the game's design appear so organic, reading about cases where the reviewer had seemingly missed a chance to collect his reward from an NPC but was approached by him in a later chapter in an entirely different place etc..

Anyway, too bad you had run into such a situation. Hope you will give the game another chance some day. The original Witcher is in my opinion a really outstanding game, much more than The Witcher 2 (can't comment on TW3, yet, though).

F4LL0UT: "Once it's fixed"? That game is almost ten years old, nobody's fixing anything there anymore.
haha... That's exactly what I thought! :)

Glad I wasn't the only one :P

Bloody hell. Never found anything noteworthy in the way of bugs.
I always just complained about the fact that there wasn't a chance to play as a woman, you know, for women to have a sense of... getting into character, sort of thing. But I still gotta say the game was just super awesome :)

bram1253: I think I have spend over 10 hours in Chapter 2 now.
The backtracking is getting really annoying.

Anyone has an idea for how much more I have to go?
Right now I collected books after bailing a dwarf out.

(P.S. The Witcher 1 despite it flaws is an amazing game and I have enjoyed it a lot so far)
(Going to play them in order)
Thanks for posting this! Dear God that game! I've put the game on hold out of frustration at Chapter 2, it's so annoying! I'll finish it, but damn.

(I also want to play the games in order and that frigging chapter means the game is taking so much longer than it "should").

The annoyance, it's overwhelming. ;)

Sorry, I was just trying to help, I guess I don't remember which part you are referring to then. It just sounded a lot like that part. It's been awhile, I guess I need another playthrough..

Hehe, sorry. I was referring to the fact that the last thing I said in what you quoted was "So I shut down the game and uninstalled it". As in, "I stopped playing the game at that point, and haven't played it since". So no, I'm not in chapter 1, because I'm not playing the game ;-)

That would mean a lot of lesbian action in The Witcher.

I'm sure you have just given some designers the keys to hell :) I'll come back blaming you next year!
