Been watching some gameplay video and I am impressed. Patch 1.08 for PC is latest. I suppose GOG has included that.
Anybody played it yet? The cost is reasonable, but there's a huge download. Someone, convince me to by it.
I played it on PS4 and it is a great game according to my opinion. One of the best games of the last few years.
But each person has it's own taste so i can't know if it is something you will like.
Visually, the colours and nature are awesome. You can see were they cut some corners, like in many NPC characters and some effects like the interaction between the character and plants but it is still stunning and very beautiful. Music is nice too, very atmospheric.
Well neighbor, that puts me closer on deciding. TNX
If fighting robo-dinos as a ginger sounds appealing to you then this game is for you. Visually it's stunning with warm bright colors and lush vegetation and environment. Combat is decent with a robust xp system and good upgrades to your character and gear. Had fun with it on PS4 and put 75 hours into a memorable playthrough.

Highly recommended.
Didn't like it much, TBH. I have a really high tolerance for repetitive sandbox games and I absolutely love Horizon's world and writing and think that it's still one of the best-looking games out there but the two times I approached it I got very bored by it rather soon. There's just something about its structure and quest design that I find mind-numbingly dull. Sometimes I'd fire up the game, look at the map, see the ridiculously distant points my current quests need me to go to, and turn it off again.

Keith_I2: The cost is reasonable
No it's not. On the contrary: charging premium brand-new AAA game price for a game that is three years old: that's a major ripoff.
On the contrary? Hmm...
Makes no difference to me. If I want it, I'll get it, no matter the cost! It appears to be an interactive movie with tons of gameplay. I wonder how many games, such as this one, that few gamers hear of in the last 3 to 5 years?

Yeah I mean if you can reasonably afford it, sure go for it. remember Cyberpunk2077 is coming soon though, unless that doesn't interest you at all
I liked its engine it felt different. Overall its quite normal open world game.

Meh, 50 euros is nothing.

Yesterday I went to the Lidl store to buy "some" groceries. I felt like I had bought almost nothing, just enough to survive the rest of the week, but still 75€.

And today my wife went to buy some chocolate and cookies and sweets and whatnot for Christmas from the airport (as there is some kind of corona-sale there as no one is flying = no customers), and she calls me "Can you put 300€ to my bank account, as they don't take cash here?". Oh ok...

So in the cosmic scale, me paying 50€ for HZD yesterday was nothing.

I would never pay that much for this game, so luckily GOG is selling it for 31.6€ to me :D

You monsters! Is it because of different currency? Odd that they'd sell it that much cheaper to Norwegians than us poor Finns who have to pay 75€ for groceries just to survive the rest of the week.

Oh well...

I know, it's very odd because I thought regional pricing was long gone...

Have absolutely no idea why, but in hindsight, it's kinda good because it offsets the monstrously humongous import fee-tax (and tax on everything) we must pay for shipping physical stuff in.

A few years back I could order from Germany or Amazon f.ex. without crushing my wallet, and now if I want to pay for a GPU card for 200USD I also have to pay almost 81 USD for shipping and tax...

The Norwegian government is scared of loosing businesses here, but that's bs.

Also, I understand how it is to shop for the week. 75€ euro (almost 800NOK) isn't that much in Norway either (again due to taxes and already high prices).

I was in Tromsö several years ago and the gas and beer prices floored me, even though they are quite expensive also here. No wonder the only other tourists I saw in the hotel seemed to be from either Germany or US, ie. rich tourists.

Well ok, at least you get cheaper GOG games then, so that's something.
Not surprised.

Hehe, there's that. :P

Yes, no, Norway is known for being one of the more costly countries to take your vacation in. Even we shrug when we see "Fresh original Norwegian"-food that are even more expensive than we usually eat (heck, even coffee at a restaurant costs almost like a meal), so I never promote this country to anyone.

But then again, every scandinavian country seem to be more expensive by the decade...

No, see youtube videos of Norway's mighty mountains and fjords, and instead travel to Greece, Poland, Bulgaria or Italy instead. They have much more to offer in return (better prices, hospitality, culture, art and history). :D
