Telika: Yes, moderation, for real, with moderating moderators who moderate. And warn and ban and stuff. And refer to an official code of conduct and everything.

Given the population increase, the forum would have kept spiralling down, if left to self-moderation. Or maybe it had reached the bottom already. But anyway, it's back to breathable levels of decency. A level that the okay people would not have left.

I doubt many will come back, unfortunately. The nastiest period of the forum may have durably marked the memories and defined its image to some of them.

But at least, in this environment, new may come.
New will come and complete the change done when GOG started selling more than old games. Not commenting on the business decision to do that just saying the empty places will be filled with a different kind of people that left. Which I feel is both sad and interesting. :)

Well, dunno how long u hv been away but some things hv either become better or taken a turn 4 the worse. We can't c chat notifications anymore unless we go check our chat & soon GOG is going 2 implement chat set 2 'friends only' as the default settings. Other than these, seems 2 me the trolls/scammers/spammers hv reduced a fair bit other than the usual 1s who r still ard of cos. Rep system is still broken & able 2 be abused though as 4 some reason some troll/s still like waste their time on me but that's fine with me cos the more time they waste the happier i am, lol.

Not really. Well not really really. In your case I can imagine forumgoers downrepping the abbreviated sms-like style (they even derep Fairfox's "accent"), but in the absolute, straightforward abuses are also monitored by the gog moderators, on a case to case basis. Check with them if you see too weird stuff is going on around you.

Yes, even that. And they say GOG doesn't care...

Well, if some ppl is gonna derep me just cos i dun type the 'usual' way then i think they pretty much hv a prob with the whole world. I can accept ppl telling me straight in the face they dun like the way i type, perfectly fine with me cos we can nv please every1 but if all they can do is press that button then i guess it's shows they might not be able 2 accept differences in others.

For me, as long as one dun intentionally hurt or abuse others anything goes. Only by being tolerant can the world live in harmony. Yeah, sounds like i'm proposing world peace but i do truly believe we can all treat others with more civility especially on the net. That also includes the choice 2 ignore my post if the way i type somehow offends them of cos. ;)
