omega64: Husky's?
I think that should be "Huskies". Or "Huskys"?

In any case, your version sounds like you're talking about "Husky's forum". If there is such a thing... There probably is.

( By the way, tinyE only likes Donkeys. That's a completely different type of dog. )

NovumZ: I made a vote for cloud saving and now that I understand the whole DRM free concept: I would like to be able to remove my vote. Makes sense?

Once you're in, you have to choose between "for" or "against", there's no neutrality.
Damn neutrals! You never know where they stand! ;)

Generally in the middle I find.
You made the wish in the Galaxy section. Here's the more popular wish in the proper section, complete with my almost-four-years-old joke.

cloud? cloud saving? cloud workspace?

100% is online thats why its cloud, clouds are up, way up in the big sky.
All data is saved on big nasty lightning fast servers.
So E.T has a fulltime job phoning home, no thank you.

welknown example:

Nasty Adobe has created a new milking cow: adobe CC (creative Cloud) a while ago again:
Pay through the nose for more of the same for as long as you live or Adobe exists.
You are verified all the time via your account (online) if you take a monthly of 30 usd that would be 30x12= 360 a year,
for a period of 5 that would be 1800 usd (even more for eu countries)
I dont think you get all the adobe programs for that amount so i guess it gets even costlier then 1800 for 5 years, guess they were better off using the old paid software that would be changed once in 4 or 5 years.
It was cheaper.

Not really, because if and when GOG decides to add cloud storage for savegames et al, and they almost certainly will at some point in time - just like the rest of their announcements about Galaxy being always optional, any other features like cloud storage would also be optional. GOG is quite unlikely to add cloud storage and then allow game developers to make it mandatory, because that would make Galaxy mandatory to save games, and they have stated endlessly that Galaxy is and always will be optional.

So by conclusion, GOG cloud storage features will never be DRM even with the worst case definition of DRM, because it will never be mandatory.

But, even if you could unvote it, I don't think it really matters because there is a massive interest in cloud storage for games because it is a very useful feature many people want, in particular people who game on multiple computers, laptops etc. and want to shift from machine to machine and pick up their game where they left off, or people who want to wipe out their hard disk and reinstall their operating system and not lose their save games, as well as other usage cases.

When it's optional - nobody is affected negatively by it against their will or desire, but the people who do want that feature can have it. Both groups of people get it their way - the GOG way.

Incidentally, cloud storage is even optional on the majority (if not all) of games on Steam that support it as well.
