It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I suck at searches, so I couldn't find it after several searches. Could anyone help me find a wish list item so I could vote for it? I feel sure it's already been suggested so I must be failing to find it. And adding my vote to an existing item is better than starting another one.

When on our game page, and we click on a game, a drop down appears with "Downloads" "Store Page" "tags" etc. etc. etc.

I think it would be great if there were also a link to the game specific forum as part of the dropdown. And I'm almost certain I'm not the first to want that, so it would be nice if I could add my vote to an existing item. For what good, I admit I dunno. Seems like they used to respond to wish list items frequent.y. Not sure they care any more though.

I'll keep trying searches in the meantime to see if I can find it myself.

What item are you looking for on the community wishlist?

Catventurer: What item are you looking for on the community wishlist?
To add "Go to game forum" onto the dropdown list when we click on a game in our library. I'll try and take a screenshot if I can.

screenshot added. Would like to be able to go from my game page directly to game forum without searching through all forums under community. Sorry if I'm still not clear. Always a problem with me I'm afraid.

Second screenshot shows my Steam library, where there is a direct link to the specific game forum.

I guess you could get there directly from the game page by first selecting the store page and then IIRC the store page of each game does have a direct link to the game specific forum. But it's a real PITA when you want to go to the game specific forum and you have to bring up All forums and then scroll to find the one you're looking for. Maybe since you can do it in a two step process already (first click store page then forum) then perhaps this hasn't already been made into a wish list item as most folks feel that's good enough. I won't add one then in that case either. But if there is one already, I just wanted to vote for it is all.

You can click on the game first (the actual image, to bring up the downloader links, etc.), then click on 'more'.

It is a confusingly inconsistent UI design, though.

Oh geez, I never noticed that. THANK YOU. This will do. I never saw that before. My bad.

Dammit, started another thread that was unnecessary. Sorry.

OldFatGuy:
While not exactly meeting your requirements, it is already possible to reach the game series-specific forum through your library, if you are willing to make an additional click (see attached image).

Also, there are a few community wishlists that are related, but, I am not certain that they conform to your desires:

Not to worry. I think that effectively shows discoverability could be improved.
Oh well, found the forum. Didn't find a solution.

This is bullshit gog. Your whole meme used to be selling games that ran on modern systems, with any necessary tweaks or adds (like dosbox) already included. I can't get The Chronicles of Myrtana Archolos to run period. And I see in the forum about a dozen posts with similar issues (access violation, blank screen with nothing - this one is what I get, just a bland screen, no sound, then it reverts back to desktop.

Man what is happening with you gog?????

ADDED: And yes, I know gog doesn't "sell" this particular game, as in it is free. But so are many others, and it was always the case that gog would do the necessary steps (like adding dosbox) to get it to run on modern systems even for the games they "sold" for nothing.

+1.

This would really help out a lot with people knowing about and using the game sub-forums more. Having to click the picture (which is the "View Downloads" option) and then click "More", and then "Forum" seems like a roundabout way for something that should be in the top-level menu for that game.

The top level menu and the "More" menu in the downloads tab have most of the same links, only the forum link is missing.

Ideally the default forum view would be a unified forum view with general forum topics and game-specific forum topics mixed, so that people could post in the correct forum and not have to wait months for a reply.

So you think adding it to the original dropdown as an option is worth it? I'll vote for it if you start a wish list entry for it, but I'd rather not start one myself since 1)there is another option, although not as direct, and 2)I'm not really sure gog even bothers with this stuff anymore. I may be wildly wrong, but the vibe I've been getting from gog over about the last 2 to 3 years (since Covid would be a turning point I think) is that gog doesn't much care about any of this anymore. It's almost as though they've relegated themselves to going out of business and just wanting to cash in as much as possible before that happens. I sure hope I'm wildly wrong.
