It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

clarry: But can you actually name examples of games that would do such a thing? Because I have never seen one.
IIRC, X3-series, supreme commander But even here on GOG there were a few. It was on my old XP machine, which is R.I.P., so I can not even look it up anymore. Hence I can not even name the program anymore which allowed you to get around quite a few problems.
Green_carbon, if you're not opposed to downloading an app that scans your hardware, you can try this site:

http://www.systemrequirementslab.com

Type in the name of the game you're interested in, and it will tell you whether or not you meet the system requirements. I find the site to be pretty helpful.

As for being able to play terraria, you should be able to. It's a pretty low-end game. (And by that I mean the system requirmentts)

green_carbon07: May get a new graphics card in the future, but until then I want to enjoy some other games on GOG.
Buy a new laptop? Or a desktop? Or build your own desktop (or have it build for you by a store)?
I've always ordered parts for a desktop and let a store build it for me (that way I'm not responsible if my 2 left hands mess up)
It takes some research though... no problem for me because I like to read up on computer hardware news.
Some devs don't know what hardware will run their games at all. The Chanteliese dev told me that the game would not run on my laptop in the later levels due to the Intel GPU not being able to handle reflection or some such - it ran perfectly the whole way through, with only slowdowns being in the starting open area outside of town.

darthspudius: Well for a start, you need to learn about computer specs. It isn't hard, and it is easy to do. Sounds like your laptop needs to be retired from gaming.

green_carbon07: I was afraid of that. I can still run old hard copies of things, I guess (disc install etc). I was hoping to resurrect the stupid thing since it's just old junk parts otherwise but is in decent shape aside from being outdated.
well hey, don't throw it out if its still good. Just don't play on it. ;)
