Actually, I did glitch pass the boss once, and the ending did trigger. I have not, however, been able to reproduce that glitch, and I want to defeat the boss *properly* this time.

Since April Fools is over, I can tell you what game I am thinking of. The game is...

Ultima 6 (spoilers follow)

The level cap is 8, it is possible (if you import an Ultima 4 or 5 character) to max the main character's stats, and there is a gargoyle that you can (actually have to) recruit near the end of the game. That gargoyle starts at level 2 with stats that are so high that it is possible to max them all.

There's only one problem:

There is no final boss!

Everytime you are not able to defeat a final boss try cutting off your sixth toe. In order to grow one you have to walk through a radioactive puddle. When you show it to the final boss, he will drop dead. Very simple.

It'll speed things up if you submit your retirement papers to HR by the deadline. Nothing the final boss can do about that.
