As in title, I installed King of Dragon Pass on Linux using wine.
The game seems to run well, aside from known problem with resolution that's only 640x480. That can be easily remedied by using xephir and vnc.

I'm facing another problem, and googling has failed me. I face a problem with font rendering. One of fonts seems off, making it hard to read and it also have missing character replaced with a square

I attach a screenshot to show what I mean.

I hope someone can help me fix this. I really want to play this game. I tried on XP inside virtualbox and font rendering is good, but I can't get resolution to upscale. So I really hope I can play this on wine

Thanks in advance

[Edit]

After tinkering a bit, I found that the problem is KoDP.exe detected font used as bigger than normal. This trigger a message telling us to lower font dpi, and resulted in thick font as in my screenshot. I wish someone can tell me how to fix this, but so far even google can't help me

Right now I can get decent result by running it inside winXP in virtual box with vnc server installed and use vnc viewer with stretch feature to enlarge display. Result is good enough, but response on clicking is a bit late. Well, if I have to, I'll deal with it. But I'm gonna tinkering a little more as I'm not going to play it tonight

[Edit 2]

Apparently virtualbox has scale mode. So basically I only need to run winXP, set resolution to 800x600 and maximize virtualbox window. Sure the graphic is a bit stretched, but control is responsive and text is readable. I guess I'm going to play it this way :)

Anyway, if someone have a fix I'd stil love to hear it. Cheers

This is probably not helpful, but I quickly tried it and I don't think I get this problem. Sound was broken though.
A missing character suggests that it may be using the wrong font, and I think mine looked different. Less fancy. Bitmapped, probably.

OK. That's interesting. When googling I see somebody post something about installed font that resulted in font rendering problem. I'm gonna look into it once more. Perhaps similar font is installed on my system. Thanks

[Edit]

Thank you :)
Apparently I have font ERASMUS.TTF installed on my system and removing it fix the game
Some of character like ' still rendered wrong but it's perfectly readable now
