Because I enjoy to make use of my rusty Japanese in different ways :) I don't see why I should play an English translation when I can play the original. English is not even my first language and honestly I don't need to practice it anymore. :) Sorry for the multiple OT.

Reviving this thread with a true obscurity.
Recently stumbled upon a game called E.L.I.T.E. or E.L.I.T.E. Corp. A game from 2007. The game is basically non-existent on the internet. The only site I've found that has something about it is:
https://www.gamepressure.com/games/elite-corp/zb1c25
and one shop was apparently selling it ages ago:
https://www.flipkart.com/elite-corporation-pc-game-dvd-rom-standard/p/itmec0e21cc9e4ee
Really hard to look up because apparently, there are a lot of games that have Elite in the name.
--------
No gameplay anywhere whatsoever. The game is not even listed on MobyGames, but both the developer and publisher are:
Developed by Psycho Craft Studio
https://www.mobygames.com/company/16204/psycho-craft-studio/
and published by ND Games:
https://www.mobygames.com/company/8255/nd-games/
I still have a wrapped box with the game. Been sitting on my shelf, untouched, for a long while now. Probably going to finally check it out this weekend. I feel like I'm going to be unsealing an ancient artifact :P

Any chances you could upload some gameplay? Of course assuming you will unpack it and play it :P
From my side - well, those may be not THAT obscure, but I have that weird feeling that nobody even bothers to play it nowadays, especially since those are from niche shareware/freeware area:
1.Monsters & Mayhem - extremely old freeware game, in style of Gauntlet. I have fond memories on this and by some bizzare reason, when I returned to this game recently, it was still fun (although a bit unfair with insufficient amount of keys):
https://www.mobygames.com/game/149380/monsters-mayhem/screenshots/
2.Tappo II - I actually was looking this one on GOG forum, but in the end found it independently - seems like it's still quite unique type of game (arcade game with spaceships, but on closed arena in some kind of deathmatch):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tK-_Wx1w8EI
3.Super Smashed Bros (important! not Smash Bros, but Smashed Bros) - parody from Twinsky (previously Tatsusoft games), for some time it was released as freeware, unfortunately majority of websites hosting it are no longer functional, so finding it is a bit troublesome. But it's worth it, behind the parody theme there is very interesting idea with every level presenting a different type of "game":

Fortunately, I somehow find the installer for freeware version, so I can still play this weird yet interesting game.

Ah this old thread.. fun to read about that one game I've been thinking about...
Oh well. I've already given up looking for it, it's just impossible to find. Might be gone from the net for good for all I know.

I guess that realisation's more likely to be true when you're playing a small indie project but yeah I get that feeling

I think I found gameplay video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epFrGOkLhOQ
edit: and here's also wiki page, both in russian obviously - https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%9A%D0%BE%D1%80%D0%BF%D0%BE%D1%80%D0%B0%D1%86%D0%B8%D1%8F_%D0%AD.%D0%9B.%D0%98.%D0%A2.%D0%90.

Anyway, I gave it quick test run just to see how it works. Out of the box, the game launches and plays fine, but there is some weird DirectX display issue whenever motion blur is involved (eliteartefact.jpg). Quickly dropping in dgVoodoo seems to have fixed it (elitefixed.jpeg).
Just a couple of screens for now, will delve into the game more later.

Star Command (1988) seems obscure. Kind of makes me think it should get a remake. But graphics should stay similar or at most, something like Cataclysm DDA.

Yeah I've asked around in a few places and nobody knows this one. And whenever I ask, a bunch of people show up to recommend well known commercial first person shooters that everyone knows *sigh*,

Oh well. I've already given up looking for it, it's just impossible to find. Might be gone from the net for good for all I know.
Half-Life and Unreal Tournament spawned a lot of shooter projects with all kinds of settings. Early alpha/beta releases might explain the lack of music and sound effects?
A few examples of team multiplayer with "modern" settings:
UT: Strike Force, Tactical Ops, Infiltration
HL: Global Warfare, The Opera, Specialists, Desert Combat, Science&Industry

It looked and felt pretty much like you'd imagine a freeware solo project from early 2000s: low detail & low poly levels, unremarkable textures, "stiff" feel, very little to no sound effects, animations, or other assets..
For all I know it might've come from depths of a site like sourceforge, some kind of game programming hobbyist forum, who knows what else... nowadays search engines make it really really difficult to find any remotely relevant results :\

One thing with playing obscure games, and which I consider a drawback, is that there's often few to no resources on the game.
For example, I got the game Spirit of Adventure, and looking on the (English-speaking) internet, there's practically no resources. I found a text file with the manual with some hints added, though it's on one of those sketchy sites that limits how much you can download per day unless you pay (an entirely silly limitation when we're talking about a *text* file that isn't even that big), and *no* other guides. Didn't even find any maps. (Usually for a game of its age and genre, you can find maps of every dungeon level on the Internet somewhere.)

I would tell that it is - I personally played it (even still have CD with this game), but it's surely obscure game, which almost no one talks (wouldn't be surprised if almost no one plays as well).
Really weird yet atmospheric platform game. Never finished it though.
