Primo_Victoria: Is there a roundup of the games sold by widget? And is gOg some kind of alternate Russian GOG or...?
amok: Since there is no store front, there is no unified webpage. Said that, there are a few community driven ones. I think this is the best one:
http://calvein.github.io/humble-games/table.html (and no-one know how to write gOg, not even gOg themselves... I emphasis Old in gOg).
That's so cool. Thank you.
Are you saying that you wish GOG only sold old games? I'm sure you're not the only one, but I find modern indie games just as appealing.
Primo_Victoria: Well, you don't think very highly of GOG, it seems. :/
toxicTom: It's my favourite store, currently. A little for lack of alternatives, admitted. What I want is DRM-free, uncut and (in case of non-German titles) English (original or localized) games both old and new. Gog.com gives me that, and in addition to that has an awesome community and better support (most of the time) than most other stores. Sometimes they do awesome things like discussing the new TOS with the community beforehand. Sometimes they do (IMO) silly things like breaking stuff that worked and was used by many people without complaints (like the PM to chat thing, which made me using the system only rarely nowadays).
I would never forget that they are first and foremost a business, trying to survive and prosper to make it's owners rich. I think they really try to treat their customers well, be it because they believe in the principle, or because it sets them apart from the moloch Steam (who basically treats customers like shit). While the former reason may have the "knight in shining armor" bonus, I can never know if it's not just a facade for the latter. In the end the important thing is - they treat me well. So I stay as a customer. They stop doing it? I'm probably not buying here anymore. (And the nice thing is - I have all my installers and would never have to have any contact with GOG again and still have all the games. Try that with Steam).
No, it just seemed like you thought they would just not sell a game if they thought angry mothers would attack them.
Yeah, with Steam you need cracks once you've bought the game. It sucks. I think I'll mostly buy directly from devs from now on.
