Really surprised Facebook is promoting this to me because I'm a GOG user. Selling games that are not kosher is definitely illegal
What do they care? Do you think they even have a single person left within Meta who has a shred of ethical decency?

Try rethinking your angle. Instead of asking them nicely to stop selling their illegal swindle, contact the rights holders. Most of them have a /piracy link somewhere on their site for just such an occasion. Piracy is bad to them, but bootlegging (that is, selling the piracy) is whoo, it makes their lawyers salivate.

Swedrami: Curious how they managed to dodge the ever watchful eye of Warner Bros for years (according to archive.org)?
Archive is wrong there. According to the Facebook page where this all began, the site was originally called "Deniz Digital Services Ltd" on July 3rd of 2021. The site was changed to "Best Old Games" on August 9th of 2021.

I'm surprised Warner isn't doing anything, but it is all based in Israel.

I'm sure. And no, I haven't requested anything of the sort to them. I'm washing my hands of it. I refunded the game, deleted all links, all emails, all of it. With the number of people who know about it, I am really surprised that the lawyers have not gotten involved, especially when it was being called a scam or not kosher by some users. Of course, some people are so stupid that they think it is legit because the games were real and worked on their computer. There are a lot of old boomers who said they didn't know how to use it and community service had to show them, so they were happy about it.

It's just a bizarre situation that I'm leaving alone. He'll get in trouble for it eventually, or maybe he won't. Either way, I don't care and I'm leaving it alone.

Kamashii: I appreciate all the replies. I figured it was dodgy but really hoped it was just some site that somehow had legal rights to games. Seeing NFS carbon/most wanted, just ticked my hyped mode into overdrive.

As others said, I was more concerned about my bank account more than anything else. Since heard enough horror stories around that one. I will just forget about that site.
I was worried too until i bought emperor battle for dune. No virus, my bank account wasn't hacked. The games are cheap but i know people dont want to buy from them because the games are pirated but then people buy mooded consoles that are fully loaded.
I had a sudden nostalgic urge to play Project IGI and came across this site in 2023, and it looks quite good and "classy" unlike the dodgy look described earlier.

It also showed a salvating bundle-deal of IGI1 and 2 for $5.99. I almost bought it but decided to do a quick interweb search myself and I'm not so sure now.
They sell cracked games.
No idea how they still operate, they should've been hit by a cease and desist a long time ago.
Does anyone know why they are claiming rights to the General and War Wind series?
I guess it's just a lie to make it look legitimate, but I don't quite get it. I mean, they could have just said nothing and it wouldn't have made any difference, but they choose to, and they pick these 3 specific games, all 3 owned by SNEG. Why?

I think you've taken the wrong meaning of dodgy. We all meant dodgy as in "looks like it's not legitimate" rather than as in "poorly designed site".

That being said, I am surprised that this site is still up - especially as it's apparently (well, according to the site) a Californian company. Usually, I'd expect potentially dodgy sites that persist beyond a few months to be Russian or Chinese due to the lack of respect for IP within those countries.

"Project IGI" can be run under Win10 from CD-Rom/DVD, if you have the original at home.
I figured this place was bogus when I saw them selling the Lord of the Rings The Third Age for PC. It was a PS2, XBox and Gamecube exclusive. That tells me not only do they not have licenses for the games they are selling, but they are selling games they very likely didn't even pay for,
