I'm intrigued by Low Magic Age. Has anyone played it? If so, what did you think?

I'd have posted on the game forum, but everything I've posted lately to those has garnered zero replies.
I bought it too.

I haven't played it either. It looks interesting, though. I, too, want to know if people like it, and if it's worth playing before it's "finished".

I couldn't be any more useless, eh?
Yes, have it since early access. did play through the arena mode a couple of times back then. Later on the battlebrothers styled campaign was added. been meaning to give the campaign a decent try.....
the developer seems to be quite amazing, taken on the development of this game as a hobby it seems, still adding more and more content. From a pretty ok implementation of the dnd 3.1 ruleset, to different professions and even ambient ligthning and FOV improvements
One thing is certain: no-one can accuse the dev of being lazy.
Almost every week GOG receives updates to the game. That's what I call dedication to a project.

The Low Magic Age developer is for sure close behind.

If you like tile and turn based combat, based on the 3.5 D&D rules you can't go wrong. A bit bare bones on fluff, but the core is there.

Is there much of a story campaign or is it mainly open and free-form... like say Mount & Blade?

Look into your chat :). Questions might be answered by trying the game out yourself.

You -- and others here on GOG -- over the last few years are inspiring me to pay it forward.

Thank you.
The game is already fantastic in develpment "forever". But it needs much more content and work in the campaign/arena/sandbox modes. The potential is there, it could be a beast in the style of battle brothers if it is treated with enough gameplay additions and content. The nature of the game lets me think about a lot of future campaigns, attractive sandbox mode, new continents, and things to do in the world. Why not.
I read about this game and became really interested. Adventure and fight in a medieval fantasy open world sound great. Unfortunately, I haven't played it yet as I'm currently busy working on one project. But wjen the work is done, I'll check it out for sure. I know that various tactical elements are implemented in the game rules, so I'm looking forward to playing it. Anyway, thanks for the feedback.
Oh, this game seems wonderful. It kind of reminds me the old Blades of Exile from Spiderweb Software.

It is wishlisted for now. Thank you for pointing me towards it. How did it ever slipped past me?
Had it had it in my wishlist for a long time, but considering how some dev/publishers failed to update their games on GOG, I'm not comforatable buying a game that is newly released, let alone in development.

I don't think you'll have a problem with that. The game's updated almost every month:
