If you want people to message you, you need to "Allow conversations with anyone" in your privacy settings.
The default is friends only (That might have been changed at some point in the past).

Also if it's still available, I'd very much like to have that Hard West key, thank you in any case for giving away the key.

Bah! I have been to and fro on Master of Orion but I think if anyone wants to give me a copy I would like to have it. Just do not go buy one for me as it is quite possible I will only play the game once or twice.
