AWG43: Be persistent in your request. It took me 2 or 3 requests to remove this DLC from my own library. You should try to ask them to restore "your" Hard West - Faithful Outlaw Reward order.
Thanks for the encouragement. I have logged it with support and have chased it, but still nothing. I had even logged an unrelated ticket about another game and that was resolved in a few days. The Hard West 2 DLC ticket is still open though, with no action. I chased it, but still nothing.

I'm REALLY hoping that they are trying to come up with some elegant solution to please everyone, hence the delay, rather than just hoping I will give up if they ignore it long enough.

AWG43: It's very strange why this situation got messed twice already. The most easiest way was to add this DLC as a free separate item, so everyone who wanted it could claim it.
Or to add a serial key for the HW2 DLC within HW1. This would be nonintrusive, while still keeping it as a reward for owners of the 1st game. Many games already do it, such as BombShell (See attachment), The serial key here is not for the game itself, but for the demo of Ion Fury. So nobody is forced to get this demo, it does not take up a library space, but those who want it, can redeem it.

Agree.

SargonAelther: That's very interesting. Do you own Hard West 2 base game? If you do, when did you buy it? Was it before October 2022?
avatar
mrkgnao: I do. It was bought on 4 August 2022.
That explains why.

SargonAelther: OP snip
You showed in another group the DLC in your orders page appears as refunded. My orders page doesn't even list the DLC anymore, and I did see it there when I went to confirm why there was a nearly empty entry for Hard West 2 in my library.

A receipt can be used as a legal document in Brazil, and from what I'm reading, it can also be used as a legal document in the European Union, of which Poland is a part of. If GOG can and does delete receipts or part of of them (like it was the case of that demo the dev wanted G-O-N-E) whenever they feel like, it's as the legal jargon I heard once says, "it's like using the law as toilet paper".

You are talking about Timberborn, right?

Ya
I can confirm they redacted parts of receipts because my copy of the demo was obtained along with other products, and the receipt from my orders page didn't match the one over at my email by one title - that demo.

edit: added some more info

This is one game that I have vowed never to buy, not here, nor anywhere else, ever.

Hi, refunded orders are hidden by default, so you have to make sure you enable them. Go to your order history and click the small drop down thing to the left of Search (See attached).
Enable "Refunded Orders" and then either untick everything else, or leave everything ticket and search for Hard West. Assuming you owned Hard West 1 during this period, you should be able to find the refund.

high rated
Support have now returned this removed DLC to me, so thanks for that GOG.

I will still say though, that this kind of a situation should have been handled via a redeemable serial key, placed under the 1st game's "more" section. Other games on GOG have handled external bonus content in a similar manner. It's both easy to ignore and redeem. No one gets upset.
Yes, it's safe to say that GOG bungled this in pretty much every way possible.
