Try Jason Dark's 'John Sinclair'

They're pretty good, have only read his books in german though and I don't know if any of his books were translated.

Firebrand9: I decided to read "Hell House" by Richard Matheson, same author as "I am Legend". I'm not far into it, but I can say it doesn't waste much time on BS and gets right going. I like that.

I liked his 'I am Legend'. :D
Should give Hell House a try.

Not horror themed, but I am reading the 'Game of Thrones' books, and I wanted to get this off of my chest:
Fuck George R.R. Martin, everytime you start to like a character he kills them off. :`(

Stephen King? Gotta go way back - Salem's Lot and Night Shift.

Just the first two Lestat novels for Anne Rice - The Vampire Lestat is fine literature in my book.

The best vampire novel I ever read was They Thirst by Robert R. McCammon.

For a genuinely scary page-turner, check out Dan Simmons' Summer of Night.

Finally, Walkers by Gary Brandner of The Howling fame is a cheesy 80's book that made me keep the lights on.
