No good answers so I'll post a new hint:

I finally found a monster who was thought to be the source of all evil. I took him down, sadly not before he was able to cause a significant harm. But then it turned out other countries have similar problems so I traveled over the sea to a southern country to aid them. And find a solution for the most recent problem caused by recently killed monster.

It's been a while since the last time I've seen my brother, but now a sinister-looking man shows up telling me my brother wants to see me. Soon after the man leaves I'm assaulted by several freaks who basically trash the place I live in and try to kill me. Well, I guess I do need to go meet my brother if only to find out what that was all about.

I'm knee deep in carnage blasting away at swarms of enemies rushing my position, but the disembodied narrator of the game is more concerned with mocking my hat. And hey, it's a nice hat.

At times there's more than one person on my side (mulitplayer) but usually I'm all alone with no companions, and no ghost of a chance of getting any help....better change hats to switch my luck around?
