So usually after a descent or two you switch around team members or send out new team while the old one recuperates. And they've got turn-based battles.

How many of them came to me? I don't remember. Proud knights in shining armor, pious priests in simple robes, wise mages in pointy hats... even some poor deprived sods in rags, heh. I helped them all, sent them to their fate so that this world got a chance to continue living. Poor fools, so many of them believed they were chosen ones, those from the prophecy - but all they found was death. Still, if just one of them succeeds, it will not matter. Yes, one would be enough.
Since that hero will have to show up here eventually, all I have to do is wait. Might as well have a nap while there's time.

Is it an RTS? There was one where you have to send hereoes around the map and constantly recruit new ones.

Inhuman, big eyes and ears, long neck. Pretty tall, towering high above the player character (and you don't even get to see all of him).
