I recently played the DRM-free version of Ninja Pizza Girl from this Groupees bundle earlier this year, and found that it is actually just a demo version and it has not been updated to the full version of the game. The game has since been greenlighted and released on Steam with a patch released in the first week of it's full release in October of this year. I've contacted Groupees about this and also the devs to ask them to update the game on Groupees servers. Hopefully they will be able to do so!

However, this got me thinking that it would be useful to compile a list of DRM-Free games hosted on the Groupees servers which are either woefully behind in updates or are not full versions or are otherwise somehow borked. Thus, the existence of this thread.

If anyone knows of a game or has encountered similar such issues, please post the game and the problem in this thread and I'll compile a list so we can try to get in touch with both Groupees and the devs to see if they might be able to update the hosted files.

Groupees nowadays often sells demos (file names even contain 'demo') and updates are very, very rare. An exception is DAWT which got recently updated. The notification counter showed that update next to many added steam keys, for that reason I regard all games on groupees as outdated after some time.
I have the feeling you'll have a very long list...

That's why I don't even bother looking at groupees DRM-free bundles anymore. With the exception of music ones.
Groupees isn't very consistent when it comes to updates. Some games get updates regularly, other will stay in demo/alpha/beta mode forever.

It's all up to the devs and the best you can do is to send a mail to them and ask them to update their files on Groupees. Unfortunately many of them think it's ok to offer their games on Groupees first and to never update it again once the game gets greenlit.

That's sort of what I figure too, especially given that many devs don't feel the pressing need to update their files even at GOG, but it would be good at least to have a list resource to refer to and attempt dev contact. Even if only a a few respond to the request it's still a small win.
I'm pretty sure there are a lot of files lost in that server crash that they haven't even bothered to replace yet. A lot of the earlier bundles in my account have dead download links.
Groupees is really more about giving you a taste of games to come, to a tune of 8-10 games for $1-2. The site itself doesn't maintain the files - it's up to the developers to do that, and most of them don't care, as they regard Groupees as a distro for demos. It's not organized as a store, like GOG, Steam, Desura, or even itch.io.

There was a plan to add a Groupees store by the end of the year that would turn the site into a new Desura (and competitor for itch), where your games would be organized similarly to those sites, but I think it's fallen through.

The only games on Groupees you should regard as finished versions are the occasional classic game that shows up DRM-free... which they haven't really had in a long time.

Newer games stuffed into those various Greenlight bundles are demos, period.

I wouldn't say that. When I look at my Groupees library at the moment, there are update notifications for 16 different DRM-free games (and I already downloaded some during the last few days).
Some of these games had several updates in the past. So there are indeed some developers who care for all their customers and update their games on Groupees regularly.

But it's a gamble. You never know which games will get updates and which will stay in demo mode forever.

I know this is the commonly accepted perception, but as PaterAlf mentioned a good number of devs do keep up with updating their Groupees-hosted DRM-free files after they've been fully released.

In fact, I have already received a response from the developer of Ninja Pizza Girl and they are contacting Groupees and are looking to update their files. From the wording of their email, it seems to have just been an oversight that no one else has asked them about. In a lot of cases, I think if developers are just contacted and reminded of the situation they would be happy to update their files.

So to reiterate, if you guys encounter any games that are not updated, please post them here and I'll add them to the list as well as try to get in touch with the devs of said games.

If you could find the time, I'd appreciate it if you could put post them in a list that I can add to the OP and I'll get in touch with Groupees and the devs about them.

Ninja Pizza Girl has been updated to the full, most recent version. All it took was one email to the devs and less than 24 hours! :D

The game is a fun little sidescrolling parkour thing with a neat art style. Disparity Games, the developers, were very fast and attentive in responding to my request.

This is awesome. Thanks for taking the initiative! NPG flag sitting in my account right now. Good luck in your quest! :)

PaterAlf: Unending Galaxy
Some devs are indeed committed to updating Groupees. Far too few, I'm sure, but nice to see that some care. This game is receiving MULTIPLE updates - I noticed two flags yesterday and had probably already cleared one a few weeks ago.
To add my 2 cents, the "update notification" is at the discretion of the dev so for conveniences (for example: to prevent players from downloading and reinstalling the whole game just for small changes like typos corrections), it can be tempting to not put an update notice in some cases.

Cheers for that, definitely nice to have a dev's inside info and perspective! And also thanks for being a responsible dev and not forgetting your game update at Groupees, I see it was included in PaterAlf's list. :)
Primordia is at 1.2, judging by the name of the file, but the latest version is 2.0.

Gateways is 1.14, but it's 1.15 on Steam, according to their last news update. Amusingly, it was pushed a short while after it was featured on Groupees.
