UhuruNUru: I don't need to apologise to GOG at all.
avatar
djdarko: Why don't you apologize to this forum for making a big bullshit thread of misleading information?
How is warning people that their pre-order might quite possibly be wasted on low-quality port bullshit? Double Fine is famous for its poor management. They haven't even managed to fix their own engine to display some of their games in framerates higher than 30 fps, and this is nothing compared to Broken Age and Spacebase DF-9 incidents. He didn't intend to mislead anyone.
If there's anyone who UhuruNUru might need to apologize to, it's to GOG's QA team. But that's only if the port is actually good, which seems less than likely because of 4 GB minimum requirement of RAM. This wasn't stressed nearly enough in the GOG's pre-order release post in my opinion. A remaster of 16-year-old adventure game requiring as much memory as Far Cry 4 is ridiculous, so let's all at least wait for the actual release, okay?

LiquidOxygen80: I'll be frank, just judging from the shoddy "HD" screenshots I've seen from the supposed remaster, I'm actually not excited for GF anymore. I'll be BRUTALLY frank, I think Tim Schaefer has become a hack and can't make quality games, if he doesn't have someone like Ron Gilbert or a manager to keep him in check. I'm not going to say that Bobby Kotick was right, because that would make me throw up in my mouth a little bit, but man. Most of what DF has produced, with the exception of Costume Quest has been mediocre.

realkman666: Iron Brigade? Stacking? And they published Escape Goat 2. :S
Not a fan of any of 'em. Didn't like Broken Age either.
Sorry, but I agree with the critics. Bullshit thread.

OP may be a good friend of Glenn Beck. Just askin' the question...
This Gamesradar review seems to think GF Remaster is very buggy indeed:

Kind of ironic but there are indeed some bugs being reported in Grim Fandango, Here is another review that mentions having to restart the game because of the glitches.

All I need is one button for interacting and one for examining. I seem to remember Broken Age not having both as it's designed for touch devices.
Perfect game for Let's play watching.
It seems the game has a lot of gameplay bugs as well in its current form.

Never heard of Greg Beck, whoever he may be.
What?s bullshit about it,?
It was the facts at the time of writing, as more information became available and particularly when the actual game the Podquizition was talking about was revealed, the following week, I posted updated information.

I keep saying regardless of the actual game the initial warning was about, I will give the same advice for every game.
All Newly released Games may be buggy messes, buying before release makes no sense.
Don't Pre-order then complain it's shit, when you pay for puree hype you'll get badly burned. Wait until you know it's OK

PC port of GF apparently is very buggy, Dying Light out today has major issues with AMD GPU, Nvidia is better it seems.
Even after release waiting for a Graphics Driver update and 1st patch is becoming more sensible.

Even with GOG who are, by far, the best place to buy games, the same warnings apply. Particularly with new releases, GOG has little if any involvement. They are just a reseller of Publisher controlled releases. DRM free releases they may be, but not usually GOG modified and vetted releases.
Well, it seems the OP was right. The game, at least by reading Double Fine forums and steam community hub, is a buggy mess. Even the PS4 version is full of bugs, and they already patched that too.
I think this game will be 75% off in no time, or DF can surprise us all by spending good money on trying and fix the game.
Or it can be another Spacebase-DF 9...
