drmike: Well gosh. Maybe if current GoG employees would actually pay attention to outstanding issues instead of making wise ass remarks as a response, maybe things would improve around here.
↑ this guy does have a point, you know.
Interesting how kohlrak gets a response and I get passed over.
To be fair, he likely doesn't have that level of access. I have a feeling, too that there's a few people standing over his shoulder pointing at different things while he's trying to type and make replies and stuff. Believe me, I have my own laundry list of things i think need addressed from the DRM creep to other things, but i'm a bit more concerned about the drama of the past few days as well as the brewing drama.

kbnrylaec: I hope this one blue stay here longer.
GOG's last few forum managers almost did not do anything.
The timing is a bit suspicious given that nasty business a few days ago...

Breja: I do hope this will finally bring some peace and order here, since the place has become almost unbearable of late, there's been so much hate, insults, sexism and bullying. It would be nice to be able to have a conversation about a movie or a game without it immediately turning into a flamewar about politics.
Nothing wrong with politics. I mean, Ulfric's a righty and surely to get compared to Donald Trump, but something like a random moment in a game, something obscurely resembles a bicep shouldn't be an invitation to talk about a game's toxic masculinity.

I was just thinking this too, tbh, but that'd be the fastest hiring i've ever heard of. I imagine this was well planned, and recent events expedited hiring.

You have my word there will be an active effort to improve things and build a better experience for everyone.

No offense and I do wish you well but I'll believe that when someone finally follows up with emails from the legal email address.

I do honestly wish you well. As noted up above you're probably in over your head today.

It would be nice though at the very least if we could fix the css issue with the forum thread titles.

Linko90: Hey guys! I thought it would be a good idea to introduce myself to you all as I’ll be seeing you around a lot! I’m the newest member of the GOG.com community team. As you’d expect, that means you’ll be seeing me around the forums on a daily basis!

First thing I’d like to say is do not be afraid to approach me, we’re all here due to a shared love of video games, myself included. As members of the community, I’m keen to hear your input on the current state of the forums. What can be improved, what should be removed, ideas for the future. This place is yours just as much as it is ours, only together can it flourish!

A little about myself -

I’m originally from ’sunny’ England and grew up on a steady diet of Half-Life mods and Blizzard games. I have a passion for older titles, forgotten gems and cult classics, which led me to GOG.com in the first place! Aside from video games, I have a soft spot for trashy horror and action films no one ever rented at the VHS store.

I look forward to talking to you all! If you have any questions, or as mentioned before, suggestions, feel free to hit me up!
Welcome. Oh boy, are you in for some fun. Anyway, good to see a CM aboard again. Just... don't trust Konrad. I know he looks cute and cuddly, but that's a complete deception.

...I've said too much. <_<

Since you asked, you shall receive feedback! For me, the most underrated part of the forums are the game-specific subforums. There are a lot of great topics there, but sadly low participation. I think a permanent link from each game store page to their own subforums, and the ability to see what game forums recently had new posts, would help a bit. In other words, please take a look at:
https://www.gog.com/wishlist/site/link_to_relative_game_subforum_in_the_store_gamecard_page
https://www.gog.com/wishlist/site/option_to_sort_forums_by_last_post_instead_of_alphabetically

I understand your role is not a technical one, and maybe you will be more focused on the General discusions, so you might not be the one in charge of these. But anything that encourages participation in the game-specific forums would be great.

phaolo: Hello.
Are you the new community manager, by chance?
If so, prepare your armor, shield and.. hammer :P

Linko90: I left them in England, all I have now is a chainsaw and a pile of discount noodles.
Wait, you're saying you have a discount-noodle-powered chainsaw? That is utterly awesome! I didn't even know discount noodles could be used to power anything other than farts! :D :D :D

By the way: welcome to the trenches! ^_^

Hello, there!

It'll be good to have a community manager who is both present and active. The last one didn't last but hopefully you will. Personally I'm looking forward to the uniform application of the rules, where infractions are handled based on what they are, not on who committed them.

Either way, where in England are you from, I wonder if I've been there. Oh, and what Blizzard games are you playing these days? I'm in the beta of BfA right now and it's shaping up rather nicely.

Hey Caesar

I can for sure pass that feedback on to the relevant people. Adding that feature myself may result in fires, panic and a jobless community manager :P

That picture is way small. You'll need some serious pixel art skills.

Do you have such skills?

If so, let's talk. I might be hiring an artist for my next project in the foreseeable future.
