mrkgnao: Not on GOG, where Australians pay on average 18.6% less than the US on 114 games.
I see, though I was referring to more in general and not just on GOG. The discount on Armello seems to be almost 40% so it does look like a special case.

Same discount as Van Helsing and Ronin games.

Do you have some concrete numbers about the Australian vs. US prices on Steam? I couldn't find any. Just anecdotal complaints (but I have heard the same complaints about GOG).
I still think GOG has their calculations reversed... because we end up paying less every time they readjust for our dollar getting weaker against the USD...
Oh well... GOG's loss...

One day they'll wake up and fix it... maybe...

Bigs: our dollar getting weaker against the USD...
Can you say a little prayer for me, Bigs? Then check this ;(
Weakest value in 20yrs, 70% weaker in the last 12 months... as someone living here for a long time, I say things are doom-ish. Totally catastrophic. And some brazilian games aren't regionally discounted in here, god only knows.

No, I don't really have any concrete numbers as it was mostly based on complaints I see about the pricing there and most retail games being priced at 20 USD higher. I did find the following while searching just now on Steamprices and looking at the list, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of games with high regional pricing for Australia on Steam as I imagined.

https://www.steamprices.com/au/search/?preset=unfair

EDIT: The list doesn't seem to be anywhere near complete, the fair priced games also list only a small amount of games.

More than 150 (how many more is unknown - that's where the filter caps out) - we pay in USD (not AUD)

We were getting these regional inflated prices (in USD compared to the US Steam store) when the AUD was above/at parity with the USD a couple of years ago - prices have not changed in the 30% drop in our currency from the highs it reached a few years ago... so we're paying MORE once converted to USD

Bethesda / 2K Games / SEGA / Activision / Namco Bandai - all the main players are in on it - can't think of many, if any, that DON'T regionally price their games on the AU storefront

Thanks for the link. It seems that that engine does not return more than 150 results.
Still, it does appear there are a lot more games on Steam that are more expensive in AU than cheaper. Thanks.
Many of the unfair prices games for Aussies are/were mainly from the big boys. EA,Activision, Bethesda, Take Two etc. Many of the indies are OK (some of them are unfairly prices for what they are imho but thats another story)

EA aren't THAT bad - but buy on Origin.. at least they price in AUD...

Indeed, 150 is the filter limit thats why I edited my earlier post. The regional pricing on a majority of games from big publishers on Steam is not favorable for AU judging by most of the publishers on that list and the ones you mentioned.

No problem, Steamprices is a good resource for checking pricing for all the different regions though it would have been more helpful if the search filter wasn't capped. They could definitely learn a thing or two from MaGog in that regard. ;)

I give up trying to find any logic. The only regionally-priced Bethesda game on GOG (Morrowind) costs for Aussies $19.99 on Steam and $14.59 on GOG.

As with most regional pricing its simply what publishers can get away with selling at in a particular region, there hardly seems to be any kind of rational reasoning behind it and certainly has nothing do with fairness.

And $22.29 on GoG for me. -.-°
I'll have to hold on to my disc then, because unlike what some people seem to think, we don't exactly fart money here in Eastern Germany.

Yes. But it's the same publisher, the same game, and the same region. Do you really want me to believe that GOG forced Bethesda to sell the game to Aussies for less here than on Steam?

I'm sure you will find more examples of games being priced differently on GOG by the same publisher for the same region then on Steam e.g. Splinter Cell $19.99 on Steam while $9.99 on GOG published by Ubisoft. As for the reason behind this, I am as clueless as you are.
