I think it's probably the foreign transaction issue. I had that problem with my Visa check card the first couple of times I bought from here after getting a new bank account, but since then it's been going through fine.

(Also, I feel the fee concern is a bit exaggerated... it usually works out to about ~10 cents per transaction for me from my bank.)
