Hi,

Is there a way to get statistics for GOG or rather GOG Galaxy? For example:

How many games exists?
Which are the top 10 games played today / week / month / year?
What is the average playtime of a specific game?
Which users have the most achievements / most games / most played hours?

Many greetings!

No. You can get galaxy ones because galaxy tracks and send that info back to skynet. Whilst it may be that more and more of the offline installers are sending info back, it’s not as common, so the data doesn’t exist. And hopefully it will stay that way.
Hello,

1. There are currently 3533 games, according to the Game Technical Issues support page.

2. I don't know about this one.

3. If you played the game, look at the Overview tab in GOG Galaxy. You can see the average playtime and achievement unlock rate for all players (not just friends) in the Friends Leaderboards section on the right.

4. I don't think there's anything of the sort, but you can see the average playtime, achievement unlock rate, and owned games. In GOG Galaxy, click Activity on the left, then look at the Friends Leaderboards section on the right.
As others have said, only Galaxy users are tracked because only Galaxy profiles and sends back the data. Offline installers by nature will not be sending anything back, even in-game Telemetry can be blocked by running a "whitelisted" firewall, so whatever data you get will be skewed and undercounted anyway.

About how many games exist, you may want to dig GOGDB for that.
You can also use scripts like "GOG Games data grid view" to see how many games are currently available on GOG.

And like the others have said, tracking installed games wouldn't be viable for GOG.
The best alternative would be checking the best selling games currently: https://www.gog.com/games?sort=popularity&page=1

Why would you want to know this?

Given the usual attitude of Europeans and Germans in particular to data privacy and GDPR, I'm surprised that you're even asking...
Hi,

Thank you so much for your answers.

There is no real reason why I want to know this. I like statistics and this questions crossed my mind. I hope this will not lead to a discussion about policy. ;)

Many greetings!
Querying Galaxy for stats gives us useful information such as that there is less than a hundred players using Linux.

EDIT: I was being sarcastic. Looks like I had to clarify that. I use mainly Linux myself.

Wouldn't this stat be flawed for two reasons?:
- Galaxy doesn't run on Linux
- Linux users would probably have a greater likelihood of favoring offline installers over Galaxy

Yes indeed....... see my edit above.

I've never used Galaxy, so I am woefully ignorant of how the platform works and what it shows (I am heavily reliant on hearsay as while I install & play some of my games on a windows machine, I do everything else, including my installer backups, on a Linux machine).

I thought it strange that it would show Linux usage stats at all, given that what I've heard is that the platform doesn't run on Linux,
